OMG i have an exam tonight for BT4 (facials)
Has anyone done this yet?
Is it MEGA MEGA hard ?
Swotted so much my brain wont take anymore !!!!
HAVING A BIG PANIC ATTACK !!!!!!!!!!
Any advice greatly received!!!
hi hun i am doing beauty at the moment and cant really offer anything coz i get soo nervous :eek: , my teacher is forever saying "dont look so nervous when i ask you stuff "
i wouldnt mind but i have done it before so dont know why i get soo stressed , but at the time you will be fine , just remember to keep your movements flowing :biggrin: , and by tomorow it willl be done :) , good luck

I am doing the VTCT Level 2 Beauty Therapy Course which is similar to the NVQ L2 that you are doing.
I did'nt do an exam but had like 5 practical facial assessments. I had to work on different skin types, normal, combination etc and had to know what stuff to use eg. masks.
The only advice I can offer is to remember the routine for a facial i.e.
Cleanse, tone, moisturise, skin type analysis, exfoliate, massage, mask.
Remember the types of masks (kaolin etc) for the different skin types
Consultation
contraindications to facials
Treatment plan

Yeah, keep your movements flowing - don't have to be in the same order as how you were thought. Bet your client will be really pleased and well relaxed! xx

I did itec in beauty therapy and herman did Anatomy & Physiology where i had a five hour written exam....................we had to name all facial and cranium bones all muscles in the face, neck, lower arm and hand and lower leg and foot:eek: we had to go into deatil on endoccrine, circulatory and nervous system as well as lymphatic system so if you have any queries, please feel free to pm me, but i am sure you will do fine, just realax

ALL my fellow student buddies were really 'hacked' off....we were so unprepared!!!
WE have had a 'pants' tutor for the start of the course.....after xmas we have had a FANTASTIC tutor.....cut a long story short....somewhere down the line we have been chasing our tails trying to catch up as we wasted so much time in the beginning.
i think it will be a MIRACLE if i pass (and everyone else feels the same!!!)
I'll keep y'all posted !!!! FIngers toes and anything else that will cross i'm crossing it !!

so it got Lily and its really weird cos evryone knows me as Lily so when i am at shows and someone is shouting Lily i dont mean to ignore them LOL

I'm teaching the NVQ 2 beauty at the moment and all the girls on there are all stressed and worried as well. But steady your nerves, your hard work will pay off. Just do your best, you'll be surprised at yourself and you've probably passed! :)

Well i'am dong a part time course, only 1 night a week.... its been blooming hard work....for some bizarre reason thought it would be a 'doddle'!!!!!!!
Got the exam paper last night and though eh?? never even heard of that word !!
Fluffed right up on the muscles of the face !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh well.....think u can do re-takes!!!! lol

yes you can do a retake- im nearly finished the same course- plus you only retake the questions you got wrong- shame i didnt read your thread earlier cos i could've given you an idea of the questions... did my final external exam on monday... it was just silly- it was multiple choice and out of 4 possible answers to me 3 could be right.. just a matter of opinion..

Im doing level 3 part time at the mo and ive got an exam tomorrow night on muscles.
Not v. happy cos i did it all last year but the new standards means ive got to do all my anatomy and physio again. :twisted:

We have exams on the following facial (done), waxing (done), manicure, pedicure and small treatments. THINK THATS IT although i was sure there was another one but havent got my diary.
As well as each exam ....we have had to do assignments... for Health & Safety, Facials and Salon Reception Duties.
Following that we have all our practical assements..........eek:eek: which start after easter.
So do you not have ANY exams to take? And it is the VTCT level II Beauty Therapy course your doing?

Yep, am doing a VTCT Beauty Therapy L2 course til June, all day Mondays.
Facials, makeup, lash and brow tints, lash perms, waxing, tanning, man, ped, ear piercing, hair bleaching.
So far, we've had one exam on the Health and Safety at Work and that'll be it for exams I believe. We do about 3-5 assessments per module; this is after we've trained, provided evidence that we can do the stuff and then we get assessed.
We also get treatment packs on each modules to complete and also the anatomy and physiology bits too. Hard work, but I enjoy the course. We also get case studies to do in breaks like makeup on different kinds of skin etc etc.
Guess the courses are similar just set out differently! Hard work, but gooood fun! xx

Yep very rewarding - got the learning bug now though!! Dont know what to do next !! Massage or Reflexology!!
