Hello,

I am working in a newly opened local hair and beauty salon, we are holding a taster session for a group of mums from the local school and was looking for some ideas on what we could do.

The mums are all paying £5 to try out some of our services, and we will be providing some drinks and nibbles.

I would like to give them all some things to take away that would encourage them to return at a later date for appointments, what would be the best way to do this?

Thanks xx:)

How about a goodie bag? Fill it with a nail polish, a few discount vouchers, chocolates, refer a friend business cards etc.....

Might just make them feel extra special!

I would suggest a 25% discount only valid during school times? with an expiry date.
Id offer mini makeovers on the taster day (touch up makeup, file and polish, demos for hair up, etc) do skin tests for tinting (hair and beauty) and lashes, facial demo ... have a model getting a facial and allow your guests to watch or just take a peek ... some people dont know what treatments entail and can be intimidated until they see for themselves.
Recommend a friend is a very good idea ... Offer a discount of approx 20% when the friend visits and give the regular the same discound. Loyalty always pays ... you look after your loyal clients and they'll keep the newbies coming!
If you have samples do consultations ... give them a sample of your reccommendation and a discount of a future treatment booked and maybe even paid for on the day!
Maybe put together a yummy mummy package? to inc cut and blow with a treatment and head massage, waxing, lash and brow tints, file and polish??? ... the essentials that mums just dont make enough time for!

Dont know if this helps but hope it gives you some food for thought :)

Good luck x

Don't forget it's Mother's day coming up, so maybe do a discounted gift voucher for them to purchase on the night, and then give them a £5 loyalty voucher to use for themselves on their next treatment.
We often run client nights like this, and a raffle is always popular - to raise money for a local charity - and so clients can win treatments, and product samples! It's cheesy but it works...
Oh and a glass of wine always helps them to get more involved on the night, makes it feel like their having a girlie night out, yet a great marketing tool for you..
