need ideas please!!!

Hi! I've found a room to rent within a hair salon and I am starting next week... I just wondered if anyone could give me any good ideas on my 'opening' day. I was thinking to do a special 'launch' kind of thing and hand some flyers out with maybe 20% discount on the opening day etc. Cant really think of anything else yet lol so was wondering what kinds of things other people had done to get new customers when starting up??????

I've printed some posters to put in the window too so hopefully that will help.. I'm just a bit worried that I'm going to walk in there next week and have no bookings :((( I would be gutted so really need to get my thinking cap on!!!

Congratulations on your new venture!! I would make inviation like leaflets and maybe offer the following;

"Come to the opening of.....There will be lots of exiciting things happening on the night including:

The you could offer

* Nibbles and wine on arrival
* File and polish for first 10 people in the door
* 15% off first booking
* Raffle - sell tickets give money to charity and prize could be a facial or somthing?
* Beauty Talk - Questions and answers session??
* Live demo on a treatment - know any hot men you could do a spray tan on he he
* And this is prob a laugh out loud answer but maybe you could get a local celeb to cut the tape hehehe!!!
* Decorate the salon - get some pretty helium balloons!
