Hi, ive been performing acrylic nails for a while now, however now and again i have clients coming back to me and saying they have fallen off within a day!! How can this be? :| Some of my clients last 3 weeks :), I have been using dream acrylic products and is wondering whether i should change my products to something else? And what product is best to change to?
Hope someone can help me as im potentially losing clients

Depends how they have 'fallen off'. Does it lift off as a whole? Snap? Where? It could be incorrect prep, contaminated product, too wet, quite a lot of different things. Can you tell us more?

Apparently she was blow drying her hair and they all came off:| which i cant understand. i have just been to see one of my friends who i did the same night and hers are fine no lifting. I did use a different powder product to my primer and liquid would this have made any difference? Although i used the same on my friend and they are fine:). I am really confused as to how they came off, I did notice that the powder had bits of black fluff in there, aswell as the brush could this mean that the product was contaminated? Would it be best to change my liquid and powder to something else as this was all given to my via my course training.

I also find around the cuticle and side walls they lift within a day or 2, could this be the product i am using?

Hi Ze-tech- nailz
I am also a newbie and use Dream acrylic and have also been having issues so much lifting and even complete nails coming off.
I have read through lots of threads and have got so much from the info on this forum, I looked at my prep which has helped a lot in some cases. I also got so fed up that I looked into other systems have tried out IBD flex L&P and CND and love it.
When I can afford it though I am going to do the CND course as this seems to be the best on the market with the best training and follow up support.
Good luck

The black bits sound as if it contaminated.
Also your meant to use the same L&P systems and not mix them as there then could be a chemical breakdown and also your insurance probably won't be covered if anything happens.

Im glad to find that im not the only one who has had problems with dream:) I have been looking at cnd and think that i might get a trial pack and see how i get on.
Quick question though, would i be able to use cnd on french acrylic tips? As i notice most people use forms.
You have all been a great help to me thankyou so much :lol:

CND L&P can be used over tips or on a form.
good luck with your trial kit, but as your brush may be contaminated i strongly advise you to buy a new brush, even a cheap one. Otherwise you wont know if the products are working properly.

I've used CND for loads of different tips, the opaque colours are great. A friend of mine use to bite her nails badly and the warm Pink was great at making her nail beds look longer when I used it with Poppits.
On reading peoples posts I have now come to the conclusion that CND is the way forward.
Back to the Dream system I found if I used dyhrate and then two coats of the primer that helped.
Although was told by another nail tech that some peoples nails just don't like the acrylic ?

Can't say I do
Do you make sure all the lids are on?
I have 3 cats and one of them has taken a likening to lay on my nail desk in the sun and have to sterilize and wipe everything down, bloody black cat hairs everywhere.
Hope you find out what the problem is but I agree with the other comment definately need a new brush and i'd check my liquid as well.

Maybe i should invest in a brush cleaner as i was taught on my course to dip my brush in the acrylic after use and wipe in a paper towel n that would be okay. What towel is best to wipe excess acrylic off your brush?
Ive looked at the forums and i agree that cnd would be the best way forward, I am going to try a trial kit first and invest in all new products

You were taught correctly about cleaning your brush in fresh monomer liquid to clean it.
You should never expose your brush to brush cleaners as they are very drying to the hairs of the brush.
It sounds that maybe you are having a few issues with your prep and application if you are having all these problems.
Switching products wont stop these issues if you haven't got your prep and application skills honed.
You also wont be able to purchase further CND products until you have done either a foundation course or a conversion to CND.
With regards to black fluff in your powder and brush it sounds like you are picking up contaminents from your workstation, and possibly clothes, towels etc.
You need to ensure that you keep everything clean and free from fluff, dust and debris.
