Hi! This is my first attempt - What do you think?

I used Shellac and realised that I should have started at the free edge, silly me! :smack:

I was quite disappointed after I put the top coat on as it seemed to round the swarovski crystals and loose their sparkle.
I did use a very small brush and painted the top coat carefully between so it keep them in place, but it didn't seem to work:sad:

Where am I going wrong folks??

Thanks for your help in advance

I like the design!

And true,.. if you topcoat swarovski crystals they loose their sparkle.
Maybe next time you place them in your wet UV-gel topcoat or gelpolish and then cure. I always do that and they keep well!

Good luck!

If you have used real swarovski's then they dont lose their sparkle when you apply top coat. The ones that I found that dull are the cheap glass or plastic ones. Swarovskis don't, its a case of you get what you pay for like anything else.
If it's sparkle and shine that you are after even after applying top coat then the real thing is the way to go.
I always apply my swarovski's in either the top coat of gel or with CND Gelbond adhesive.

I find that with real swarovski crystals they still dull slightly with top coat, I use the gel around the crystal so that they are very bling, and they all stay in place, I had my toes done and they lasted 5 weeks and very bling!! xx

Hi, Thanks for the comments.

The crystals are real I got them directly from a swarovski elements recommended supplier.

They are beautiful and sparkly when I set them in the shellac, just seem to dull with top coat over.

thanks again

Your nails look gorgeous. I can't wait to start trying myself. I'm just wondering how you would remove the crystals without damaging the nail?

Sorry to but in!
Thanks :)

I have used Gelish and Clear Gel ( both are soak off )when applying Swarovski Crystals :) I have also applied top coat over them and they have not dulled. When i remove them.... i soak off with Gelish remover or acetone...I apply a saturated cotton pad and wrap the toes or fingers in foil...( shiny side against the nail to speed up the removal ) and they come off so easy.

Hope this helps :)

Hi - Mine were easy to come off too! just wrapped them with acetone as normal and carefully (over paper) pushed them off with an orange stick then the layers of shellac.

No damage to my nails and managed to keep a few of the crystals (for me only) for my next design!

Thanks

Yes i have done that too ...I guess if they are the real swarovski they stand up to the removal and re-use...I too only do this for myself :)
