One of the UKs top spa conferences taking place next month has unveiled a new and rather interesting speaker. Many (older!) readers may remember Derek Hatton as a flamboyant ex Liverpool Council leader in the 80s and particularly his battles with Margaret Thatcher.
Today, however, Hatton is best known for his media work and motivational speaking. He will take to the podium at the UK Spa and Wellness Conference on 8-9 November at Center Parcs, Elveden.
A self confessed keep-fit fanatic, organic food champion and consumer of 27 vitamins per day, Hatton is clued up on his health know-how. He will discuss his ideas on wellbeing in the spa industry and in general, including how the retirement age should be increased to 70 years (where health allows), and why the cure for obesity is simple.
Hatton will be among an esteemed panel of speakers including Clare West, formerly MD of Six Senses and Catherine Whittle of Spa Partners.
