Hi guys just wanted to show my first attempt at mixing my own glitter acrylic. I was quite pleased with and wanted to know your opinions. 9696 the middle finger looks a bit funny but it is actually the natural nail itself that is big due to an injury.

I personally wouldn't have used white tips on this client. The glitter looks pretty though.

Try them without the White tips, as they look too low. Can't beat a bit of bling!

Try finer glitter next time it mixes lovely. :)

Glitter is a nice touch. Has mentioned above the White tips too low.

Hi guys thanks for ur comments. Yes I do agree about the white tips. She is a new client who came to me from another salon based nail bar. I recommended natural to her for the reasons you say and explained that as she didn't have a good sized nail bed it would look a bit funny but she was insistent on them as she always has white tips. Before she saw my glitter mix I even offered pink and whites but she didn't want them either so this is what we ended up with but yes I do agree with you. Xxx

They look lovely, I'm just doing a nail course at the mo - have my practical and theory on Tuesday eek. How did you do these, did you do the tips, acrylic, glitter then top coat or did you mix the glitter in with the acrylic? X

I made the glitter by mixing three different glitters together in a pot and then in a separate pot I mixed two parts clear acrylic powder to one part of the glitter mix. After applying the tips in the normal manor and priming etc I placed a very thin layer of the glitter acrylic mix just to lightly cover the tip and nail bed down to the cuticle. I then placed a plain clear acrylic over the top and finished as normal. X

Thanks for that, I'm going to give it a try next week x hope they look as fab as yours! X

I'm sorry in advance OP if my comments offend, but these nails are definitely not fab and the glitter only emphasises the complete lack of balance and frankly the very poor look of them.

I would love to know, why they pleased you so much and what others find so FAB about these nails.

I would be no help to anyone if I commented that these nails were fab. It actually to me is a very sad thing for our industry when this is the standard people are aspiring to reach?

The latest thing seems to be ... Throw on some hideous white tips, never mind about the shape or structure and then top them off with something else (laughingly called nail ART) and that's OK?

If you really want to improve to an acceptable standard, then concentrate on learning how to do beautiful natural-looking nail enhancement and only then when you have reached that stage should you even think about embellishing your work with anything else.

Sorry i agree with Geeg before i scrolled down to see her comment!

Try sculpting the white tips instead of using tips then you can decide where they start so they flatter the nails better. Plus anyone can wack on some white tips!

I think the glitter would of been nice if it were finer too!
