Hi Geeks

Just after some advice I have a male client for full leg wax, who is after a full body massage, which I have no problem caring out these treatments on male clients.
Here is where I need your help or advice when he comes in for his full leg wax he never has any underwear on and when I am doing his treatment he does get a full on erection:eek:eek:, but I just ignore it and carry on talking to him as if nothing has happened, as this I fill is professional.
When he comes in he talks about his family, work etc.
However this evening he has texted me asking for a massage after his next waxing appointment, how do I go about asking him to wear underwear when I am doing a full body massage, or do you think I will have to do it without as he does not wear any when I do his waxing.
I was so shocked the first time he came in and just wiped his jogging bottoms off with no underwear on, I just did not what to say as it has never happened to be for with a male client.
This will be his 3/4 appointment.
Have not told my boyfriend as I fill he may freak out so cant ask his opinion, as he is usually good with thinks like this.
Also I work alone so no chance some else is there, I do have a rape alarm which is atached to my massage belt though.(Not that I am suggesting this would happen but just to be on the safe side)

Sorry for the long essay geeks.
Thanks
Kirsty

Hiya...I would say to him that you would like him to wear underwear while you are massaging him and also while you are doing his leg wax. There is no reason why he should get an erection if you are waxing his legs as i presume you arnt having to handle his bits:Scared: No excuse and likewise for massage. Boxers on or no massage or waxing. Be assertive..you are the one in control girl and you need to feel at ease.:Grope:

OMG!!! I would not feel comfortable with that at all especially as he is clearly aroused. You should be careful, I too am mobile but only carry out tans on male clients if they have a female friend or partner at the house too, it's to dodgy. It does sound like this guy doesn't intend to do you any harm as you have been to him a few times but I'm still wary. You need to tell him he has to wear underwear no matter how uncomfortable it makes you feel - if he doesn't like it go ahead with the treatment next time but if I were you I wouldn't go back, massage is a completely different treatment, if he gets turned on having hair ripped out then god only knows what he'll be like when you start rubbing oil on him. Be careful honey xxxx

I would not do a massage straight after a wax? How would that work?
Are you really going to feel more comfortable or safe with this guy just because he puts his pants on?
Please be careful....

Dear Kirsty
I'm sure I will be the first in a very long thread of Geek peeps suggesting that you ditch this client immediately - there is no way you should accept this man as a client for any further treatments -in spite of the fact that you have performed waxing for him several times. I understand that the surprise/shock of him removing his underwear for waxing the first time meant that you continued... but his arousal should have set off major warning bells for you. This is not OK and not usual. Don't be bullied into making further appointments with him, I also suggest that you mention this to someone either at your place of work or if you work from home - a family member/friend, so that at least another person is aware that this has occurred.

Thanks for all your replies but I work from a salon but it is just myself there. It is not that he is taking underwear off he comes to me with nun on He goes Com-undo. So how do i broach the subject. He does have a little bit waxed above the bikini line and i also do his bum cheeks, he wanted me to do full bikini on him but as not been trained to do advised that i could not so he shaves the rest.

Personally i dnt see a problem as this guy may not have control over his erection it does happen but only if you feel comfortable how about leaving with some male disposables to put on and just ask him to put them on for the massage then its not an issue xx

It's NOT appropriate for him to turn up for just a full leg wax without underwear on. He should wear loose boxers or stretchy underwear so that you can pull them up high when you do the crease of his leg.

Also, men CAN help getting an erection and they just lay there with their eyes closed and think of their mother in law.

Trust me! He is trying it on and seeing how far he can go with you.

Personally, I would sack him as a client or send him a text saying 'Hi John. Please arrive for your waxing with your underwear on and leave your underwear on during your waxing as there's no need to remove it.'

You really don't need clients like that and before anyone thinks I'm being OTT, I specialise in mens Brazilian and full body waxing and I wax naked men all day with no qualms at all. A decent guy wouldn't do that.

You can get paper pants for men to wear from sprat tanning! Go to the wholesalers and see if they have any!

Just say to him there a pair of paper pants there so you dont get any oil on your clothes, or somthing like that!

Sent from my HTC Vision using SalonGeek

I cant help but feel you may just give this man some sort of satisfaction by asking him to put on paper pants or any pants at all. Its almost like admitting a weakness and "bam" he has you straight where he wants you.
I would like to understand where this treatment happens as I have got a little lost.
For me
His house - a no no, far to risky
Salon without colleagues around - again, nope
Salon with colleagues - ask him to wear pants and see how he reacts.

A text "can you 'massage'me after my next 'erection'.... (i know he said waxing)"
I'd be running for the hills. Its judgemental, yes, maybe he is totally innocent, but I would not put my safety on that bet.

Simply have a towel handy and cover him up as there is no need for him to be naked you are also acting professionally by covering his modesty, same applies for massage, just move the towel up or down to reach any parts you need but still cover the ones you don't.

I would suggest you go down the "health & safety/hygiene" route when discussing this with him - just say that it is now required that all clients wear underwear from a health and safety perspective. That way, you are not singling him out and he will hopefully appreciate that wearing underwear is required of all clients - I bet you don't get female clients with no knickers on when having a leg wax, so it's the same thing!! As for the errection bit, weird, he must like the pain, but like one of the other replies said, he maybe doesn't have control over that and so long as it doesn't offend you, do as you are doing and ignore it. He definitely needs to wear underwear though! Good luck! x

Hi there
I do lots of massage on men but i always make it clear to them when i leave them to get ready on the coach to keep underwear on !!!
i would also have to advise him waxing is not the best thing to have done after a massage especially when your suppose to be relaxed after ???

:wink2:

You obviously have a funny feeling about this and I think go with your gut if you feel uncomfortable don't do it!

I would never treat any client male or female for a leg wax or massage with no underwear on.

If he came to me the first time with nothing on under his jogging bottoms I would of made it clear straight away that in future he MUST wear underwear and would of covered him with a towel for that appointment only.

If he's a genuine client and sees you for what you are a good professional therapist then he will have no problem wearing underwear from now on. Hth x

Just thought I would update you all. I sent me client a text saying that my insurance has changed and I now cant treat clients with no underwear on. He replied saying hope he had not offend me, but as he was already at work he had no undies on. However when he came in gave him a pair of disposable underwear which he put on with no problems.
He now arrives to all appointments with boxers on.

Hi Kirsty! Glad it all turned out alright! What an awkward situation to be in - no idea how I would have reacted if it was me, lol! Great to see you kept your cool though - kudos to you :) And, like this, you have not lost the income from a regular client! Well done! xx

There is no reason why he should get an erection if you are waxing his legs as i presume you arnt having to handle his bits:Scared: No excuse and likewise for massage.

Sorry, but an unintentional erection can occur during massage (no idea about waxing). It is a result of both the increase blood supply and the effect of the massage on the parasympathetic nervous system. While not common, it does happen without any intention by the client, and often more embarrassing for the client. The difference between intentional and unintentional is apparent to an experienced therapist and the former situation would simply mean the end of the treatment. In nearly 20 years as a massage therapist i have had a few men get erections but NEVER had an intentional one. Proper towel draping will prevent any awkwardness for the therapist. I hate it when men wear boxers for a massage - it makes it difficult to massage the glutes, however, if you really don't feel comfortable massaging him without underwear, can you not offer him a disposable thong?

Edited to add:

That will teach me to not read the whole thread - hadn't seen your update. Glad it was sorted, but would add, quite a few men go commando and as you have now found out, nothing sinister in the guy at all.
