My mum has vitiligo and she has been to the dr and there not much help. She has it on her arms and hands and now on her feet.

She is self conscious of this and has thought about getting a makeup to hide it, but she cannot seem to find any.

Can you please point me in the right direction where to purchase, her vitiligo is pure white.

I also have this but mine is on my eye lid, but you wouldn't know looking at me, it's just if I try to apply make up it just wouldn't cover properly it goes Translucent , so I would also like to try this also has I loved to wear eye shadow !

Supercover make up specialise in camouflage make up for medical purposes such as port wine stains and vitilago hth :)

You can try Vichy foundations in Boots and Varama Covercream is good as well.

I specialise in camouflage makeup and Veil, dermacolour and dermablend are available on perscription from your G.P, so I would recommend that you mum sees another doctor that is more understanding so that they can prescribe either brand for her on the NHS.
As these products can be very expensive if bought 'privately' from specialist websites.

Thanks will tell her to see another dr. Can you get any tablets also to stop the vitiligo from spreading, as my mums is still spreading slowly??

Will have a look in boots for myself, I don't need much. But my mum will be better getting it on prescription has she will probably use lots has she has this on the arms and hands! Odd bit on her leg.

Have a look on this site. I met the make up artist last year, and was very close up to her and you would never know she had camouflage make up. Think the brand comes in different shades.

Good luck and let us know how it works out.

She needs to discuss this with her G.P as they are qualified to give out advise on how to best manage her vitiligo.

Somebody mentioned the brand Veil above and that's what I have in my kit. It was recommended to us at college. I bought the palette which only cost £30 and has a great range of shades and enough product to last a while. Might be worth a look on their website. Best of luck :)

If it helps any, my mum has quite severe vitiligo all over, and has had a prescription for Dermablend and Coverblend for 15+ years x
