Yeah that's the idea hun. Just make sure you mix equal amounts of each 
e.g. 25ml of each to make 50ml of 10%
e.g. 25ml of each to make 50ml of 10%

The maths equasion is:
% + % = ?? ..... ?? / 2 = new %
So:
8% + 12% = 20 ...... 20 / 2 = 10%
10% + 16% = 26 .... 26 / 2 = 13%
8 % + 20 % = 28 .... 28 / 2 + 14%
You can mix as little or as much as you like but always in equal quantities.
25ml 8% + 25ml 20% = 50ml 14%
500ml 8% + 500ml 20% = 1 litre 14%
