Hi all,

This is my first, of hopefully many posts!!

I am currently choosing which beauty school to do my NVQ lvl 2 Beauty Therapy General in the South.

I have had a look at Beauty training courses at The Southern School of Beauty Therapy beauty training schools NVQs Hampshire and although they were nice their set up seemed a bit amaturish and the way they organise their NVQ2 was too complicated.

I love the look of Beauty courses |Beauty training courses | The Carlton Institute it seems very professional with access to lots of support, more course choice and facilities. I will go to the Chicester centre.

Do you guys have any experience of either of these companies or others around the Portsmouth area?

Thanks for your help x:Love:

I completed a Beauty Specialist Diploma with the Southern School of Beauty and found them very professional. With the particular course I did the emphasise was on you to ensure you practiced lots away from the school and also I carried out extra research myself. They were all very friendly and put in the hours to ensure we were all trained very thoroughly.

I have also done a massage course with the Carlton Institute and personally found it to be not as good. If I had not have already been taught massage techniques from facials, mani/pedi then I would have struggled. People on my course were making obvious mistakes in the practical but not being corrected by the trainer

I know some Geeks have had good training with Carlton so it may depend on where you go and which course

Good luck x

Thanks for this info. The Carlton Institute are not calling me back about organising a visit to look around first and this is annoying me and I keep reading that they rush courses, which does not sound good.

I have left a message at the Farnham academy and it looks good so will hopefully visit this week - thanks Billie!

I trained at the Southern School of Beauty and can't fault them. I found the training second to none they are friendly, professional and always there to help you if you need it.

I travel from the Isle of Wight, just wish I could afford to do more courses ! I loved it there :)

Good luck with your training ...
