I am going on holiday soon and would like some easy ideas for hair ups that I can do myself.

I have no idea where to pin it/how to secure it and it ends up looking like a poorly constructed birds nest!

Any simple ideas or pictures would be very welcome. (My hair is just below shoulder length and layered)

Thanks x

I have much longer hair but I find putting my hair into a bun one of the best ways of keeping it up off my face and it can be smart or casual depending on how you do it.

I love using a sock bun to do it, here is a clip explaining the 2 ways to use a sock bun (and how to make yourself one :wink2:), I use the roll up method.

She does waffle on a bit so (1.00 is how to make a sock bun. 2.02 is the first way to do a bun. 3.54 is my preferred way to do a bun):

Thanks for that. It looks easy and effective but I'm not sure if my hair is long enough. She does go on a bit doesn't she! LOL

If you search you-tube you will see that there are people with shorter hair and they can do it.

I linked to that clip as she shows all the info you need, making the sock bun and both ways of doing it when you have the sock bun.

You could also search for 'easy up do' or 'easy hair ups' and things like that to see if you can see any other styles on there you fancy.

Thank you... If I can do it anyone can
Basically grabbing your hair from the side and twisting round (put some small grips in to secure as you carry on twisting)
When you get to the end leave a thick piece down,
Half of the thick piece goes over and under the end of the twist (grips to hide the end)
Then put pretty grips along the edge of twist and curl or straighten remainder of hair..

If that makes sense.... Try an do a vid on it when I have someone to video it later.. X
