Dear geeks,

I need some help/advice from business owners out there....

I've been given an amazing opportunity to set up a franchise within a golf complex and hotel. They have around 850 members, not including those who visit the hotel for weddings, golf weekends, and private functions.

I'm going to be setting this up over the next few months on a VERY tight budget. We will have a good sized room, with our own bathroom and shower.

So I am going to decorate this room very tastefully, and doing any marketing through the golf club and hotel that I can to save money.

My beautician is going to work there part- time to start with, around the hours she does for me at our main premises. We have also been given 2 months rent free to get us up and running! Result :D

What I need in terms of advice, is what skin care and product lines to use? We use Orly, Dermalogica, Sienna X, Jane Iredale, and Lash Perfect a our place currently, and I need to duplicate products for the new room at the hotel on next to nothing. I'm not are I an afford to get another professional Detmalgica line in there  and I have been on eBay purchasing used equipment to cut costs.

Has anyone got any advice? Maybe I should offer Eve Taylor as an alternative? I have heard they are good, and there is no minimum order.

Also any advice on what types of treatments to offer??? Currently our premises is a Wellbeing centre, so we offer everything from beauty, to holistic and osteopathy. Our self employed Osteopath is going to offer a few days, and I will go in an do a bit of Holistic's. Maybe facials, nails, and wraps?

Look forward to hearing your replies! Thanks geeks xxx :p

You mention your budget alot and it sounds as though you are on a tight/small budget but don't have anything or very little set aside for marketing your new venture. Could you ask the hotel about raffling a room as a prize to your clients or offering a discounted service. This would cause a bit of a buzz in your current location and perhaps encourage purchases of pamper packages/parties in the hotel.

Hi

If your budget is SO tight, is it possible to set up a new "premises"/room??

One way is to possibly spilt your current range between the two sites so have a small but focused selection in each...... Some companies sell small sample/trial size products to save new clients having to purchase and overstock on first orders......

Sounds a bit ruthless but many companies are going out of business at the moment, I picked up some stock from one such company I found for sale on line and brought some of their stock and equipment...

Is this new venture near your current?? If so creating a buzz about it with current clients is perfect, ask for a golf prize or hotel room etc as previous reply to raffle/auction off with a couple of free treatments to current clients and then use that kitty on new venture.....

I wish you luck."
