Have a client who has been putting off having her extensions out for almost 2 months due to money. She was on a budget to start with when I put them in so in hind sight I should have foreseen this. She has also never had maintenance.

I know that by now, the extensions will be well grown out and matting (one of those clients I highly doubt follows aftercare properly)

I can't force her to have them removed if she doesn't have the money, but its also her hair, and my name at stake if she leaves them in and they do damage to her hair.

How do you deal with clients like this?!

I dont put them in in the first place if theyre on a really strict budget because i get a feeling they wont follow up on maintenence or removal and i dont want my reputation walking around like that for all to see.

Ive turned many clients away for extensions in the past, well over a good few thousand pounds woth over the years id say,but never regretted it because its my reputation as an extensionist at stake

I do the same. She told me it was mid month so after payday but after that there wouldn't be a problem, didn't think shed be a problem. I guess I can't make her remove them so if she damages her hair I can't do anything about that :s

Its a shame when clients spend the money on a set of extensions and then dont look after them :-/.

Hopefully you will resolve it

I would just send a little txt and say hi just noticed in my book that your extensions were due out a while ago and as you didn't have your maintenance check up m worried your hair will be at risk of damage if you would like an appointment let me know xx
