I have been trained in Bio sculpture for nearly 2 years now and love it! Recently I registered to sweet squared as I was interested in minx and shellac. I was just wondering how many of u offer different types of gel? Is it worth me investing in shellac if I already offer bio?
Also I know with minx you need to use an infrared light, what type of light do you need to use for shellac?
Hello - it's well worth investing in Shellac in my opinion, clients ring and ask for it by name! It's described as a power polish as opposed to a gel. You don't need to take the shine off the nails for application. It gives you and your clients more option. You do need the lamp to go with it though or you won't get the correct cure. New CND UV Lamp (http://www.sweetsquared.com/Sweet-Shop/Shellac-Accessories/New-CND-UV-Lamp)
It's also worth doing the Shellac training which is very reasonable and ensures you are off to a good start with the correct techniques.:D
i am also trained in bio sculpture and was sceptical at first regarding shellac. i couldnt see how it would alongside my bio. boy was i wrong and happy to admit it!!
i love shellac and dont know how myself or my clients ever did without it. i get asked for it by name but am also converting some of my bio clients over to shellac with great response. i am also using shellac myself and getting longer wear from doing nails than i did with bio. i find it has enough strength for me to have my nails a mid length, the shine lasts till i take it off and i love the ease of removal.
i dont think you will regret investing in it. there is a place for bio and shellac and its just learning who suits what system.
good luck xx

Thankyou for your responses! :) I also work in a salon aswell as mobile and have noticed that people do ask for shellac by name like you said. It Sounds like it could be a good option to look into then and i will definitely look into the training.
Did u notice that you gained more customers by introducing shellac? And also do any of you offer mind aswell and how popular is it?
Thanks again for your replys :)
yes i have gained clients just thru shellac. some people dont like the thought of a gel so shellac is ideal especially when they see the ease of removal and absolutely no damage to the natural nail. Clients are also able to have their nails relatively long with shellac where originally i thought nails were to be kept short, it has far more strength than you first realise.
i also have minx and other wraps and no i dont get asked for them EVER!! i havent done one set yet! xx
I've definitely gained clients through Shellac alone, I can safely say that Shellac has given my business a real boost! And, it's my favourite treatment to do - just love it! I did my Minx training in Feb and although it is not as popular as Shellac - I do a few Minx for toes. I've also started mixing things up a bit and doing Minx on some toes/shellac/rockstar glitter on other toes. You can give your client a really individual look and they all love it! I don't know if you can make the photo out below - it's a combo of Minx/rockstars using shellac - the client uploaded onto facebook and I had a great response. People are now asking for similar!! :D
