So I made a moonfruit website, just a freebie one, and was talking to someone about seo. He said that moonfruit websites never make it onto first page of google because of flash or something so told me to make a website with weebly, so I did! Now when I google my business and location my moonfruit website comes up and the weebly one is no where to be seen! The weebly 1 has been submitted to google and is on there tho but only comes up if I type the whole addres in! Anyway, now I have 2 websites, the weebly 1 I don't like very much, Just want some advice really. Do I get rid of the weebly one and stick with moonfruit or what? All my listings on Yell and the free ad wbsites have got the moonfruit website on so shall I just stick with it? Is there a chance that if I keep working at it my moonfruit website will eventually get on page 1 of google? Please help x

Hi honey

I use moonfruit, has my website for 12 months and have been on the 1st page, for the majority of that time in position 1, so my experience has been positive. Have a look at the seo thread on here for search terms, phrases etc to optimise your site. In all fairness i dont live in a massive area so its not like im competing as much as say in london. With regards to flash element mf are planning in the third or fourth quarter to change over to html5 thus losing the flash element which is certainly good for smart phones etc without flash capability.

Keep your site updated regularly, get yourself on google places and link to the usual directories.

Moonfruit can be made SEO friendly. It used to be the case that Java sites could not be SEO friendly but this has changed. There is a lot to SEO tho.
If you send me your website address I shall have a look and see what i think could be changed [if anything] to get a better ranking. Whilst im not an SEO expert, I have worked with websites long enough to have a good idea.

It may be that Moonfruit is given higher SEO value by Google but I would say that it also depends on your SEO knowledge, if you have done good SEO to your website you may get good result without any doubt, however, according to my experience Wordpress is the best!
