Tinting extensions

Hey guys, I coloured some extensions over the past 2 days from platinum blond to a base 7, I did the same on the clients hair and it turned out fine, done the extensions and it looks highlighted grey and grey ends, there's about 4" of grey to the rest being a 7.0 finished results. Any ideas why?

Only thing I can think of is there is synthetic hair in them too, but wouldn't it have shown more in the length instead of mainly te ends? Xoxo

its because the extensions are already highly processed especially to get them to a blonde as most are chinese or indian hair so in virgin state will be black, so even if they were the same colour as your clients hair wont guarantee they will dye the same colour if that makes sence

Plus they may be highly coated in silicone making the dye not take
