Hi
I've just finished the fifty shades trilogy and now my life is empty!! I need some more good reads but have run out of ideas.
What does everyone read or recommend? I usually like Martina Cole (well, her early ones, her recent ones are boring), have just finished "a street cat named Bob", I've read "call the midwife", but I also enjoy the Bronte's and Dickens. Someone recommended Jodi Picoult to me so I downloaded "Ninteen Minutes" but I really cant get into it at all.

If you like crime, Minette Walters is brilliant.
For laughs, chic lit, Catherine Alliott, especially The Old Girl Network. Also the Shopaholic series.
Nick Spalding's Love from both sides is good also.
For epics, try Wilbur Smiths River God series - really amazing!
If u want any more suggestions, please shout!

I actually just finished the hunger games trilogy (pinched off my teenage daughter) and really enjoyed them..they are designed for a teenage audience but are really well written, or as I am on the teenage theme how about the twilight books? The time travelers wife is a lovely book to.

I am an avid reader; I particularly like books set in modern times, and suspense/ murders/mysteries. I'll read almost anything though!
Last week's book: Jubilee - set partly in 1977, partly in 2007. Themes of friendship, racism, culture clashes. I enjoyed it very much.
Presently reading: Tideline- shaping up nicely as a suspense novel with an unlikely "baddie".
Book in waiting : The Night Circus

Fabulous; you'll also enjoy the others in the series, I think.

I second PS I Love You by Cecelia Ahern, in fact I've loved all her books except A Place Called Here.
The Shopaholic series is great by Sophie Kinsella.
Twilight books - fab!
Wicked - I loved this.
The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger.
And one of my all time favourite: Jemima J by Jane Green.

My daughter has recommended the hunger games to me! And, I know this sounds wrong, but have just stolen her SoG from her - was determined not to read it, but it was there - too much temptation, and it nearly made me late for work today lol.
I loved the Girl With .... trilogy. Also, although another "kids" trilogy, the Dark Materials was excellent - written for kids, but sooooo much more darker nuiances.
If you like easy reading crime, John Grisham is always good (Street Laywer is prob my favourite). If you dont mind a more trying novel, it has to be Dickens. Tale of Two Cities is probably my favourite, followed by Great Expectations. Also, We Need to Talk About Kevin (cant remember author, sorry)
An oldish book that I have just re-read (which is VERY unusual for me to do) is called Fanny by Erica Yung (who also wrote the more famous "Fear of Flying").
If you want more stimulating, mind-provoking reading, try Atlus Shrugged or The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand - hard going and will leave you questioning

The room by Emma Donnahughe; slightly chilling. It's from a child's perspective about being locked in a room with his mother. Same situation as the horrendous story of that evil man who locked his daughter away in the news a while back x

Yes, great perspective on a horrific but not unknown situation.
Without spoiling it for others, how did you rate the ending, Sarahlou?
