Hello geeks,
I am quiet new to salon geek but really just want some advice and inspiration really.......... I hope you can help??
I have recently parted ways with a company as I felt they didn't share the same professional outlook as me (very long story) and I am not sure
what to do anymore.... I am a fully qualified therapist with 8 years industry experience I am also a qualified lecturer and assessors I know I am a good therapist and teacher and I love what I do but just don't know where to go or what to do now.... since parting way I am now unemployed (I have never been in this situation before) and just don't know what to now..... I live in a small town and the opportunities are few and far between! I guess I just want to know what you would do if you were me... any advice/inspiration would be very much appreciated! x x

Self employment has always been the only way for me in this industry because of the very reasons you have given for leaving your old company.

I set high but friendly standards in my business and am not good at being told what to do. This has been a weakness in some of my previous jobs when I was younger but I see it as a strength once I recognised it and went self employed.

We are all different and we all have our own paths to find and the self employment one is not an easy or fast one. Having said that the rewards are great as you can, at last, do things your own way and prove to yourself that you can do it better. :D

I know how you feel.
Being self employed is great :)
Or working for a company where there is career growth such as area manager then national area manager etc.
Or brand manager, educator for a company even though it's hard to get into but it seems like you have the experience :) Fingers crossed x
