Anyone on or tried the Cambridge diet?
I NEED to shift about 10lbs in just under 4 weeks (I need to fit into a bridesmaid dress which currently isn't doing up - yikes!!!)
Have heard some good reviews about CD before but wondered how do-able it is and what the cost is like??
It's not something I'm looking to do long term but if it could just get those lb's off me before the wedding I'm keen!!! :D

I did the Cambridge diet for a few months, I think in the first week I lost 10lbs, but I was only have 3 chocolate shakes a day, if you do that it's about £45 a week.
If you only have 10lbs to lose you would probably have 2 shakes and a meal.
Personally I have done this and lighter life they have quick results but as soon as you start to eat you put it all back on. But if it's just for one occasion I would do it.
Just think of getting through each day and drink plenty of water xx

Tashytootoo, I have just lost a stone in 4 weeks, (12lbs in the first 2.5) but I can't do shakes, plus this way it doesn't cost anything like £45 a week lol!
I followed a no-sugar, low carb diet which was basically fish, meat, poultry, as large a portion as you like, with salad or veggies, at each meal. I had bacon & egg for breakfast every day plus a handful of mixed nuts (not peanuts as they are legumes and not allowed). Other rules are: leave 4 hrs plus between meals and eat your last meal at least 3/4 hours before going to bed
It sounds strict but OMG the benefits! There is so much incentive with this because every day you get on the scales and they are down.
PLUS absolutely no hunger pangs, no cravings at all, I feel totally in control of what I'm eating, and have loads more energy
Admittedly the weight isn't coming off so fast now after a month but I'm sticking to it cos I feel better than I have in years

Hi, I'm doing an alternative to Cambridge with an online company called Slim and Save. It's fab quality and has all the variety of Cambridge but only costs £27 a week! Lost 11 lbs in 2 weeks! Love it!

Hi,
My mum, sister and myself have all done this diet! It is great for quick result but be careful when you come off it and start eating again as the weight goes back on very quickly (and more) unless your very strict and follow the plan step by step. My mum lost 6st and me and my sister lost 1.5st each! Also be careful as you get an increased risk of developing gallstones as me and my mum found out! We both had to have operations to remove our gallbladder!

Gcross was it the Cambridge that you followed? How long did it take you to lose 1.5 stone? Hope you don't mind me asking!

Hi, yes it was the Cambridge we did. I think I lost it in about 5-6 weeks. My sister lost 10lbs in her first week alone!

Is the cambridge the same as the micro diet? It sounds the same. I wanted to loose about half a stone about 20 years back so I went on the micro diet for 10 days. I lost nearly a stone and as soon as I started to eat normal food I felt like my stomach was going to burst as it had shrunk that much believe it or not. I ended up putting most of it back on after a few weeks.:D.

Why not try Slim Fast?? It is on offer at the moment in Morissons (£2.37 for a tin of 12 shakes - 6 days worth) and it is pretty much the same but you have a 600 cal evening meal.
Might save you some money xx
