I've just done my first set on a friend of mine. The first hand is crap because by the time I finished the first nail I realised that I had too much alcohol on my brush so it wiped off the sticky layer in patches which makes perfect sense so I don't know why I didn't think of that, the second hand looks a bit better because by then I had copped that I needed to have the brush a bit dryer but live and learn eh!! She was happy enough though so at least I'll know for next time! I'm just letting anybody who's about to do it for the first time not to make my mistake :(

They look lovely, what do you use to dip the brush in? Ive just ordered some glitter and an extra topcoat to try rockstar nails...loving it!

Hi I just dipped my brisa brush in the alcohol and I did wipe it but just obviously not enough because it started to take away the sticky layer when I tried to scrub in the glitter but when the brush was almost completely dry it worked great but it was too late to fix the first hand as the stickey was gone, I wonder if any mire experienced geeks know if there was any way I could have fixed it?

You don't need to dip the brush in alcohol for rockstar, just a dry brush :)

I never dip my brush in anything , and all of my rockstars have been just fine x

I only use a dry brush for rock stars and if you didn't get enough glitter on the first time add some of your top coat cure and do it again till you get the look you want

Ah I see well now that's where I went wrong then! Thanks so much! I was following fingernailfixer video and she dipped in alcohol first then wiped but she was prob just cleaning her brush or something and either way she obviously wiped hers better then me!! I'll use the brush dry in future! Thanks

Holly does state quite clearly in her video, that the brush must be practically dry dry. She also shows clearly to pat the glitter evenly onto the surface before you start to burnish it with the brush. I'd watch it again.

Hi Geeg

Yes I watched it again last night before bed and I see that now! I wouldn’t mind but I have actually watched it about 10 times before I decided to give it a go! :o But I’ll know for next time.

Thanks xx

Lol

Classic case of watching WHAT is being done instead of HOW she is doing it!
