View Full Version : CND Brisa gel or L&P?

Hi, I'm about to book a course with CND as I want to provide a service for extensions (currently just do Shellac which I LOVE!) and was going to do Brisa and l&p but wonder if I need to do both?
I work from home and have a good client base but nothing compared to a salon and i dont work full time, so I'm not really sure it's all going to be worth it! I don't want to waste money but don't want to make the wrong decision either!
What I'd like to know is if anyone uses both procedures for enhancements or maybe one more than the other. I'm heading towards Brisa I think.
I love the way shellac is removed so not really looking forward to filing anything off nails! Is liquid and powder soaked or filed off?
I'm trained in both and have more of a demand for brisa; in saying that though shellac is still my most popular nail treatment-extensions seem to have gone by the way side in my area! I would say gels are more popular now but you still get the odd diehard acrylic fan it just depends on your area and what people are more likely to ask for

That's what I'm thinking about my area to be honest. Everyone's gone shellac mad! And too right so, its great, But I also don't want to turn away extensions and I do think it's good to have the knowledge! Thanks for your reply :-)

L&p is soaked off. I trained in both but only offer Brisa as I personally prefer it & found it easier to master-but that really is a personal preference!
Difficult one hon xx

I'm trained in both, but I'm the opposite to what everyone else has said, the majority of my clients want l&p, there is hardly any demand for Brisa. I still think its a good idea to be able to offer both, and I hear its much easier to do l&p first, then move on to gel than doing it the other way round.
Absolutely ! It's always good to expand your knowledge and offer your customers new services. i prefer doing brisa and most of my l&p clients have made the switch, my only bug bear is the filing off it would be so much better if it soaked like l&p!

Oooh I can't decide! Thanks for your opinions, I'll sleep on it! X

You also need to think about the clients natural nail type.
L&P is more suited to clients who's nails are thin and bendy as it is more rigid on this nail type.
Brisa is more suited to clients who's natural nails are hard and brittle, as Brisa will give them the flexibility they lack.
Brisa is not suitable for clients with thin, weak bendy nails as it is already a flexible product, likewise L&P is not suitable for clients with hard brittle nails as L&P will not give the flexibilty that these type of nails lack.
If you want to cater for all types of clients then you really need to do both systems.
