Show off your work on your Mums nails!
My mum is 80, and she loves the fashion lol.
She loves having her nails done, and I have done some nice nails for her. Just showing off my work I have done on my mum.
Does your mum let you do her nails?

Here are my mamas nails! She's been my guinea pig for years. Gone through silk, fibreglass, acrylic, gel, extensions, overlays!! She loves Gelish now she's hooked!

My mum would never let me touch her nails as she thought I would "ruin" them. She also thought I would make her orange if I gave her a spray tan :/
She hasn't really liked my career choice as she wanted me to have a proper job lol like a teacher or social worker like her.
Safe to say I haven't spoke to her for around 6 months :(
But my MIL loves her manis and shellac. Same as the FIL he loves his manis. X x

Sorry to hear that. What a shame :( Hope you guys sort out your differences. I wouldn't say that being a nail tech wasn't a proper job though, as we work hard and it isn't just all about slapping polish on. Some people fail to see this.
My husbands boss comes to me for manicures :) and I sometimes sort out my husbands nails too, cause if I don't, his Proximal and Lateral folds become tender.

Oh I know, my career is a proper job, it's her that thinks I'm just doing it for the fun of it. she thinks I won't be successful, earn any money etc, totally proved her wrong.
I'm also doing level 2 hair in sept and she thinks that's a bad idea but I have so much support from my other half and his family I couldn't care less. I love my job and everything to do with hair and nails so I am very happy and proud of myself getting to where I am now :) x

my mum has always been my guinea pig, shes 75 this year and lets me do anything!!she likes her nails to co ordinate with her outfits, she loves it xx
my mil comes to get her nails and feet done now too and shes 73!

My mums nails, although I put up a fight she likes the white a bit further down because her nails grow so quick! She doesn't let me do much to her fingers but she'll let me play on her tootsies :D

As a rule, I don't do my mum's nails. She's a nightmare for not looking after them! I'll be booking my brisa conversion soon and I said I'd do them for her as long as she was careful with them... her reply? "I can't stop doing what I do". She sticks her hands in bleach - she once burned all the tips off by sticking them in raw bleach :eek: So I told her I can't do them, which sucks.
Then she said I should do someone like x's nails - she's always in and out of other peoples houses (so everyone will see them), but you should put like a little topcoat on over the shellac to help it stay on, like I did with mine. *head.wall*

my mum is brill for letting me practice anything on her bless her.however i do reeeeaaallly appreciate it,she is the most annoying client to do she sits there with her hand alllll stiff and im constantly telling her to relax or then shes saying can you just do this and can you just do that i will say she can be a challange but im postive about it as i may have a tricky client one day.lolx

I love doing Mum's nails- she not only beams when I do them (bless her) cos she's proud of me, but her poor nails do take a bit of a battering working in the cash office. She can't wear colour for work so we just do a clearly pink Shellac, though she's off on her hols in a couple of weeks so I'm going to town with a colour for her then. In the absence of coloured shellac for work on her fingers, she's become a right little Minx-o-holic on her tootsies. She loves them!
