Hi Geeks

Recently I have noticed several threads about removing different types of gels or power polish. I often have to do it myself before applying Shellac when people decide to switch and I was hoping to start a thread where Geeks can state how to remove each product, the correct time for removal and correct method.

I know I for one would truly benefit as I have so many customers call me and ask about booking in and I have to admit I have turned some away when I've been unsure how to remove.

Hopefully we can get a list going of all brands and correct removal times and correct procedure including tools used.and we can all have it as a reference and hopefully stop all the threads.

Shellac, Geleration, OPI, Bio Sculpture and the many others out there..........:green:

The best way I have found it this:

- Do NOT break the seal of the topcoat except on the free edge, it will come off more easily that way

- Wrap each finger with plenty of Harmony Soak-off (or acetone)

- Use heat! Heated mitts, warm towel, I sometimes get my clients to sit on their hands if nothing else is available.

- Wait 15 min. 20 min if very long since applied or if Probond used for extra adhesion.

- Gently scrape off the lifted product with an orangewood stick

- Wipe over nail with lint free pad soaked in Soak-off to get rest off.

Thankyou for our reply, I had thought more Geeks would find this more helpful and want to help with the thread, hopefully we can Bump it slightly!

SHELLAC.

-Wrap each finger in either Shellac Wraps or Magifoils coated with Dsolve (Acetone)

-Time 10 minutes from when you put the first wrap on.

-Heat helps here also, speeding up removal time. Mitts are fab for this.

-Unwrap (I d this one by one) and gently remove product with an orange stick and any excess with Dsolve on cotton wool.

-You do not under any circumstances need to buff or break the seal.

Great thread, I missed it before. I only do Shellac which has been done! Spjelgus is that Gelish you're referring to?

I used to work in a chinese owned shop with products from China. They had to put stickers on the bottled for me to know what one is the base/top coat. The removal was so hard! What a nightmare!
I am now selfemployed and work in a salon just arround the corner from this place.I'm not sure if I should charge extra to remove this product?Do you guys charge for a Re-Shellac or Re-Gelish if it's not done in your salon?
