If you were opening a beauty salon, would you have girls working for you on an employed or self employed basis? I'm trying to work out what is best so I'm interested to know your opinions :)

*I wouldnt take on self employed, there are various reasons.
*I like to manage staff
*Personally i think a salon can feel a bit higeldy pickledy with self employeed staff (my experience of hair salons with self employeed staff), *Without wanting to be branded as a money grabbing salon owner also you can make mre money with employeed staff.
*There is so much more risk with employeed staff as you have to cover wages.
I took on 2 part time beauty therapists and we cover the opening hours between us. I work about 20 hours as a beauty therpasit the other million hours as owner/manager. My wage bill is about £250 per week. For roughly 37 hours. They are usually below the tax and national insurance threshold but sometimes it does go over. So theres that side of things to take into consideration. Managing people and bussiness is where my heart lies so I couldnt imagine having self employed therpasits working for me, bt everyone is different. Some people would never entertain employying staff.
