So the other day, i had just bought the intro kit for the OPI gel colour and i love it!! but atm i not trained with it but since i am qualified to purchase it i thought might as well especially since i am in love with OPI products...
I was able to get the intro kit but not the lamp as it is very expensive for me atm...
so i got the Red Carpet Manicure LED light instead...
i have tried it and it does work with it but when i am wiping off the excess a small amount of colour comes off...
the LED light has a setting of 45 seconds and its a 3x LED Watt = 6Watt
i leave it in for 1 min and 30 seconds...
not a lot comes off but abit...
i tried it on my mum and worked fine!
but with the client it had some residue on the wipe but the client had a cough and runny nose and had took her hand out several times out from the lamp...could that have caused the problem??
Thanks
And if anyone else uses the Red Carpet Manicure LED light with OPI Gelcolour and has a great knowledge with it then tips an advice would be great! =D
I don't have experience with using an led lamp but sounds like it could've been under-cured if your client was taking her hand out during the curing process or could possibly be your top coat make sure you're covering properly and capping the free edge.
There are some troubleshooting tips for opi gelcolor online here http://trade.lenawhite.co.uk/store/troubleshooting

If you are getting colour transfer then it could be you are not putting your top coat on correctly.
The top coat should encase all of the colour that way no colour is exposed.
I use my CND shellac uv lamp on both shellac and OPI. If I was to use an led lamp I would only use the OPI one as you are not ensured a complete and proper cure with any other lamp.
It might look cured but isn't underneath. Improper curing I believe can lead to allergy issues. You could get the OPI uv lamp instead because itmis a bit cheaper and whilst it takes longer you are at least guaranteed a proper cure.

Xxxxx Thans for the help, i had done the exact same process with my mum and no residue was left what so ever!
and i had phoned OPI reception for help and i asked how would i know if it is under cured?? and i had explained i am not using the OPI LED light and she said when you are wiping, no residue should be present that shows it has fully being cured, and if it hasn't been cured then the colour would seep through the topcoat and show on the wipe and when i had tested it on my mum nothing was there! so i think i am doing ok :)

That's good. Btw OPI are offering free workshops at the moment with a certificate on completion if you pass. Give them a ring and see if you can get on one. I'm going on the 7th august. Can't wait :wink2: xx
