Nails getting very hot with Gelish 18 g lamp

I am finding that my nails get very hot to the point of actually hurting while i am curing my gelish colour layer, especially the second coat. Is this my nails being very sensitive or could it be the lamp.

It could be a number of things , but what came to my mind is that maybe the layers are too thick and thats whats causing the heat?

Make sure your only exposing the nails to the correct 5, 20, or 30 sec. setting depending on if its a base, light, dark polish or top coat. and i agree it could be too thick application?

If you are experiencing heat spike, maybe your layers are too thick or your natural nails are thin/damaged? Xx

my layers are thin, but perhaps my nails are weak, I have been practising on my own nails a fair amount!
