Hi geeks
I'm advertising for a part time beauty therapist. Had a quite abit of interest n done a few interviews (most of them eventually want full time which I can't offer) but 1 girl who seems nice, has a little boy (so that's why she wants part time) There's just 1 thing... My full time beautician used to have a salon (she's worked for me for 3years now) n this girl worked for her for 3 years. Its hard as this is the only suitable girl that has come for the job. Just wanted abit of advise really

Does your full time therapist have any issues with the girl? If they have worked well together before they can again I'm sure.. unless of course there is some bad feelings there and if that was the case I wouldn't borrow the trouble and keep looking out for somebody else the other girl has worked well for three years so wouldnt upset the applecart

They get on fine. It was my girl that recommended her. Just wondered if they would work ok n not mess around. I think I'll give her a 2nd interview n see how they act around each other. Thanx x

Well after you do a second Interview and trade test etc decide and either way take her on a trial basis for 3/6 months to see how it goes, if your gut is telling you something though listen to it because it rarely steers you wrong, best of luck

How about this ! My salon manager recommended her best friend for the stylists job at my salon, they both worked together in another salon but roles were reversed because best friend was the manager of that salon.lol ! Well all I can say is I have had no problems and got 2 great girls working for me ! Go with your gut instinct :-)

business is business. they don't have to get on. They just need to do what there paid to do - look like they get on.
Thats the stance I would take.

If you feel that the applicant is suitable for the role then why let small stuff deter you from going with that.
It's a small world either way so if you like her as a potential employee then I think it would be a shame not to give her (and your business) a chance.
