I want to change my acrylic brand to either EZ flow or OPI I am with millennium just now....
Do I really have to do a convertion course?? Because i don't think I can afford it... And I am going to give my acrylic products to my worker as she is soon doing a course on acrylics and I said since I thinking to change my system you can have my products and she gave my money for it and it saves her money too...
Thanks

I would say that if Conversion courses weren't recommended, or necessary than they wouldn't be offered, would they?
If all it took was practise then there would also be less techs having problems and posting for advice when switching to a new system
How much you feel success is worth to you should answer the question of whether you should convert systems with a class.
Some suppliers also REQUIRE a class before you can purchase.
Just some food for thought...

I couldn't answer that one for you, hopefully someone else will be along to help with that x
conversion courses are always the best way to go. They will teach you everything that's different about their brand vs your previous ones (like mix ratio etc). This will avoid you using up product trying to correct an issue you could have learned at the course. It would answer all your questions and help with any issues down the line.
I wouldn't mix your systems either. they are meant to work together as a whole system to achieve the best, longest lasting results. Use the primer that goes with your new system. Or you could risk service break down.
Most conversion courses are only one day and some will come with a start up kit included. I totally think it's worth the time and money.
Good luck :)

Another thing is a conversion gives you the chance to learn about all the different products and how to tailor them to clients, which I think is very significant.
It's worth working out how much of the kit you get, often with CND the kit is pretty much the cost & training works out free really (one example).

Conversion courses are defiantly worth their money. I know some conversion courses you just pay for the kit and the course is included or visa versa, kits are included in the course price :)

I would highly recommend you did a conversion course. If you value your clients I think they deserve a technician that is fully trained in the product they choose to use!
Invest in your business and your education and you can't go far wrong!

Practice without training could mean wasting a lot of time and product/money on guess work.
Besides, if it was me I would want to be able to display my product training certificate in my work area so clients could see it :)

you said in your other thread that you trained with ez flow in L&P already?
So not really sure why you would need to do a conversion course on a brand that you already no how to use?
And that you ran out of liquid but here youve sold it?
just a little confused.
But anyway " All Acrylics " dont do the same thing. otherwise there would be no need for brands would there? Everything would just be called Acrylic.
Each brand works together differently from another brand, Hence why you should never mix products that are designed to be used together. after all you wouldnt want tesco value beans inside your Heinz Baked beans tin if you had paid for heinz would you? just because its beans doesnt mean All Beans taste the same.
Somethings you just have to do properly in order to do a great job.

Ok well i have returned the other acrylic products that i was unfamiliar with and had told my clients that i unable to do the acrylics on them and they were more than welcome to have another treatment done instead and once i have the liquid delivered then i will do the acrylic nails the right way :)
and i know it is confusing for what system i am known to...my trainer uses EZ flow products but she does not work with EZ flow but knows an educator and has allowed her to train clients by using EZ flow products...as my trainer owns a salon herself and she is not a brand (meaning we don't buy any products from her when but says that we are allowed to purchase EZ flow products once we have done the course with her as she is trained to teach with EZ flow
But i had already had my millennium kit BEFORE i did my training but she said that is fine to use until you run out and decide to buy EZ flow products after
which is what i am going to do...
Basically i am not trained with Millennium nails but i am trained with EZ flow but my mum gave me a kit already so i wanted to use that as i didn't want it to go to waste then i will go with EZ flow
sorry if i made any more confusion and i know now that any brand change i have to be trained with them :)
sorry for all this i am learning about all this and i want to be professional as possible giving the best service there is :)

Don't worry about it hon :D you sound like you are still learning (as am I) & you've had some great advice.
From what I seem to see on here people do try a few different brands before they settle down but I've heard good things about EZ Flow & OPI so you're looking at higher end brands already.
Best of luck! Xx
