I hate it ,ive hated the build up hate that its dominating the news and tv everyones talking about it .....Please tell me im not the only grump that thinks tax payers cash could have been better spent on school hospitals councils etc.
Might go and loose myself in scissorboy for a while.

I have watched up until now and haven't got most of it! I'm thinking that it's our turn to host the Olympics and this is the best we can come up with? It's almost embarrassing I think!

No... you're not the only one. I think it's a load of poop too!

That bit about the NHS? Yes, I agree that free health care in this country is fantastic but surely the money spent on this c**p would have been better spent paying our nurses etc and improving facilities?

What a load of *beep*

Not impressed by it at all! All those £millions for a couple of weeks?!

My thoughts exactly it annoys me greatly to see tax payers money paying for things like this. It's quite sad when hospitals are understaffed / underpaid and schools are suffering. It's crazy and priorities are all wrong in this country ... Still it's slightly better than the queens jubilee another drain on the economy that was unnecessary

Oh you miserable lot. Get with it. Most you will probably never see it again here!

Oh and well done to CND for shallacing and minxing the athletes nails. They look great from what we can see! Im not even a shelac user, I prefer Gelish.

My son is there too as a volunteer in coms. He also hosted Princess Anne the other day! Im so proud of him for all the work he is doing for us. His shifts are from either 5.30 in the morning to mid afternoon and also noon to midnight.

Come on GB!!! Im loving the music.

It's happening. It's fait accompli.
We can't turn back the clock and decide not to have it. We will never see it in the UK in any of our lifetimes.

The Olympics have represented, for so very many years, the determination of dedicated sports men and women to achieve their personal best, and the best for their country.

It unites and pays due respect to all nations.

As to the opening ceremony, maybe it's a Marmite moment. Personally I am in awe; I think it's amazing. But that's just me, each to their own.
I couldn't afford the trip to London, but I've got tickets for 3 football matches in Manchester, and I'll be proud to be there.

OK. Off the soapbox now. But I do feel very passionate about it!

Noone I know is particularly bothered about it... I do think it's nice, and that it brings everyone together - but parts of the opening ceremony did confuse me and I thought it was a bit mish-mash in places (however, I bet it took a lot of hard work and dedication so well done to those who participated).

I couldn't help but wonder what other countries thought when they watched it. If I was confused, I could only imagine what they were thinking! I did sing along to the music though ;)

Oh, and that bit at the end where the cyclists had wings... I was mesmerised! Kept wondering how I could create such beauty as nail art

To be honest I thought I was going to be rubbish, but I sat all the way through and watched it and I thought it was amazing.

I think Danny did a fantastic job with the opening ceremony :)

people forget how many jobs have been created by us hosting the olympics, and how much trade it will bring into the country so no I dont think its a waste of taxpayers money. I think if you dont like the olympics thats fine you dont have to watch it there's plenty of other channels, but personally I think that anything that might actually inspire young people to put the playstation down and go and engage in some actual proper activities is a good thing.

what a show, you lot should be proud.

it was a chance to show the WHOLE world what England was all about and it was very well done.

think of all the tourists that will be planing on visiting because of what they saw

and think of all the kids/people watching these amazing athletes doing their thing who will be inspired and stimulated into getting their ass in gear...

look for the positives......it's all good.

Totally agree.

My cousin was dancing in the opening ceremony last night and I think it's such a great thing to have been involved in.
