But i did my training through a home based company DW Beauty;
I messaged the Guild and i am so upset that they wont accept the training and insure me;
I need insurance asap and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on who to go to for the best. I would be nails and beauty.

Contact the company you trained with and ask them who has accredited their course and who will provide insurance.
If your course is NOT accredited, then, I'm afraid, you have wasted your money :-(

They own an accreditation company; DW Beautec
But as for customer service they have blocked and threatened me so i cant contact them at all. :(
Hence the reason i thought my fellow geeks could help :)

Blocked and threatened you, what on earth did you do? Only Jokin.:lol:
Sounds a bit suspicious to me hun. Have you tried any other insurance companies like Salon Gold?? If you explain everything to them and that they own their own accreditation company and they still wont except it i would say maybe the company you trained with arent doing things 100% legally maybe?
Obviously i cant be certain but it doesnt sound very professional! I hope you find a solution.

Just had a look on their website and they say;
''We help you with insurance as once you have completed your Course with us we work with 3 insurers who can offer you a year’s insurance for less than £35!''
So why did they stop you calling, can you not use another number and get in touch to see where they recommend you get insured.
Call salon gold and other insurers and ask why they can't accept you and what they feel is wrong with their accreditation methods. Then contact the educators and tell them your findings xoxo

Sorry, but I think you will need to retrain with a properly accredited training provider. If you were actually trained well, it shouldn't take long to become re-qualified.
Additionally, contact your local trading standards and ask them to investigate the matter for you.
Legally in the UK, anyone can set up as a training provider and set up a second company to provide bogus accreditation. However, if UK insurance companies do not recognise this training, even if it was of a decent quality, it is still essentially worthless unless you are only practising on yourself.
You should always thoroughly research the credentials on any training provider, and who has accredited them. Also, check that the professional body HAS accredited them and it's not just a bogus link.
