Hiya,

By all means you could have a logo made just saying hair and beauty but thats not giving yourself an identity. Not making yourself different from anyone else.

Trust me, the right name will spring to mind :) just stick with it and don't rush it and cause a mistake. Its a name that will stick with you for a long time.

Thanks,
Adam

Top to Toe Hair and Beauty???? The Works - hair & Beauty???? Total Indulgence Hair & Beauty????? or you could go a bit out there along the lines of perfect peach - hair & beauty and have a logo that is really clean and fresh like a photo of a peach which is your brand image... something along that thought process ... it could be anything/image you like and work from there. um....its so hard when you don't know the business or person!! all I could think of. I thought up a brand image I wanted and worked around that. I am only a 'one woman band' at the mo but went with something I thought could take me from mobile, to salon and could work on a larger scale. Like someone else said take you time something will come to you when you least expect it. Good Luck x

Presumably that's if people purchase resold printing from you as well? just curious.

Thanks for the recommends guys. Much appreciated.

Back to the OP- have a think of what image you're trying to portray and don't get too hung up on what you do. It'll be quite obvious to people that you do hair and beauty because your logo will be on marketing material pertaining to exactly that! ...if that makes sense. No-one's going to get confused about what type of business you are.

So, if its a classy approach you're trying to take then think of words like Opulence, or Luxury etc etc- and if it's a fresh, clean image think of words like Citrus or Lime.

Get an online thesaurus and bung some words in!

Don't be afraid to think out of the box- Apple isn't a greengrocers is it? :)

Thinking again outside the box, have you got a favourite colour or particular shade eg Topaz.
Or maybe a play on your name, surname or initials...

Yep- good idea, colours always work well as you can tie it in with your branding.

The only downside to a colour theme is being able to get the 'right' shade if you're anything like me, lol

:)

Is this really necessary?!

It's a big world out there and there's a place for everyone.

How do you mean? I was just curious!

He's a print-reseller, I'm not, I just a designer- I like to keep up how printers work as its a different discipline to me, and affects the way I have to design.

If someone was offering a free service analogous to what you provide- wouldn't you be curious as to how it works? If someone is offering a free service, I think people are entitled to ask how that might be possible?

Wasn't being snippy or competitive, I'm quite comfortable in what I do and how I do it thanks, if someone does it another way- good luck to them! :)

Hiya, sorry I haven't had a chance to get back to ya.

We aren't just a re seller. That is probably 70% of our work but we run our own in house wide format machinery.

In regards to the free logo that was offered that was 100% free with no need to order as a one off - we shall be offering this shortly to all SalonGeek Members.

On all orders generally design is 100% free. You pay for the print and design is free, we work with the client until you are happy with the proof and then it goes to print. We can do this purely by having our own design team in place. That's normally how we work. We do also work and offer trade prices to many designers over the country so feel free to give me a shout for the trade website details.

If have any questions just ask :)

Interesting - ta :)

Again, just curious, what kind of restrictions/T&C's have you got on the logo design offer?.....always interested to see how other people work things. Got any examples for me to have a nosy at?...

UK Print Broker

We are totally honest and 100% upfront.

Restrictions will be the logo will be copyrighted to our company and the client will be able to have a low resolution version to show people and ask opinions and to make changes with (maybe even start a thread on here asking opinions?) If they are happy with it then we would require all printed material to go through us or we would release a full resolution version for a small fee of £10 + VAT (and a full letter of release of design) which I think is very fair and they can take it anywhere they wish.

If a business is really struggling and they need a logo and want it released but there funds are non-existent we may release it for less.

Hope this clears thinks up :)

I may well be curious but I would DM them rather than the taking the thread off track (especially when the discussion is related to t's and c's of offers and not specifically industry related).

Perhaps its how I read it (and my apologies if I have read it incorrectly) but it seemed to me to be quite a direct challenge that could have undermined the OP's service, which in my mind goes completely against the ethos of this forum.

However I can see that the OP has clarified the points to you so you can now both happily and harmoniously compete for business on here....

All's fair in love and printing!

I do think you read it wrong to be fair- but that's easily done on here- and you're entitled to an opinion :)

But then so am I- and as you'll see I did go back to the OP and try and answer her question, and I made the judgement that It might be useful to the community to ask the question I asked also, which rather than be negative, has given him an opportuntiy to expand on his offering- I'd do that again in future with impunity!

The OP was Hair206 (not Adam) who specifically mentioned logos- so the thread wasn't off track at all in my opinion!

I did actually have a friendly chat with Adam in PM also. Yes, we're slightly in competition, but willy-waggling on a forum is beneath me. :) sorta

aaaaaaaanyway- moving on!
