Have any of you hair geeks seen this?
im utterly disgusted at their advert
http://www.adeephelanproducts.com/ (http://www.boots.com/en/Adee-Phelan-Hair-Colour-Remover-for-Light-Tones_1259549/)
it shows a girl with dark hair
(before)
use this products &...
it shows a girl with light blonde hair
(after)
heads up geeks, keep some spaces available, looks like we'll have some more 'correction' customers coming our way soon;)
What makes me laugh that they have photoshopped her hair when it's dark ! They didn't even think to use a wig ! Lol

The bit that made me laugh was this in the 'customer support' section.....
"Will my hairdresser approve of me using Adee Phelan Hair Colour Remover?
All hairdressers like to work with the purest, freshest hair, so she or he should be delighted and will be able to give you the best possible results."
What a joke, he should be ashamed of himself!x

I love the testimonials! That it even took red out and there was no brassiness.
I also living their terminology "buffer stage"!

The funniest part is 'reverses the colouring process to get you back to your previous shade'
Oh was the previous shade orange then? Hmm
And the part that says 'if you don't like it, remove it and colour it again'
Like he's encouraging people to go buy that red you've always wanted, of u don't like it remove it and go for another shade. Yeah right! And this is supposed to 'strengthen hair' in its process? Not if your going to colour:strip:re-colour and in some cases repeat a few times In the same week haha!

We have a product like this in Australia but a professional one by DeLorenzo called colour eliminator I think it's a great product, works just like this, but is soo wrong for people to be able todo it at home. If the client doesn't rinse the hair for 10 minuts and the molecules don't get washed out and they dye over it straight away, hello old colour again.

Just like Elimin8 by Rusk. I quite like it, but I can't see how you don't get any orange!

I dont understand how they can say 'strip your colour away and re colour, if you don't like that colour, then strip and colour again'
No hairdresser would do this
So why tell people they can do it at home?
I sense serious trouble from this product!
Was going to post this advert the other day but the app crashed. Awful isn't it! Don't clients realise it must have bleach in it? Or were all the models blonde first? Xoxo

This product is made in the same factory as Blondi Rae and Colour B4. It's all the same thing.
It's aimed at the consumer market who already colour their hair at home.
Whilst I don't think for a second it will lead to lots of colour correction work flying through the doors, I do think it will lead to lots of hair repair work flying through the doors.
The advertising states that you can apply a colour, use this, apply another colour etc.
Just how many box sets of 30 vol colour can you keep applying over the same strand of hair before the cuticle is knackered and the proteins shot?
I'd imagine that short hair will be coming back into fashion within 12 months.

Here we go again! The whole colour eraser stuff! God! Don't these people ever get bored? And as for mr adee! Well he needs to have a serious and embracing reality check if he thinks any reputable hair stylist will agree with this product! And as for the testimonials? "amazing product! I was black and now I'm back to my natural blonde colour" HAHAHAHA! Yes of course you are darling! And I have an ass like j-lo! ....rant over :p xx

In a few weeks time we r bound to have a thread full of adee phelan colour removed colour corrections.
I swear by rusk elimin8 which may be the same technology but in the correct hands of course

No, it doesn't have bleach in it. I have dyed my hair black numerous times and every time, Colour B4 (same product as Adee Phelan's) has got it out with no bleach and no damage.
This was after being told by several hairdressers "Oh sorry, the only way to get black out is to bleach it". Or the classic "Sorry, I'd have to do a full head of meche and then another 6 weeks later". In other words "Sorry, the only way I can help you is to tell you to get one of our most expensive treatments done on a regular basis".
If you ask me, some of you seem to be feeling a little bit threatened by this product given how overly aggressive you are about it. Maybe those people should educate themselves on how the product actually works.
And before anyone starts at me not being a hair pro, I have a B.Sc in Biology so I do understand big words.

Wouldn't say anyone's threatened by it. We might not know what all the chemical names are, but we do know from experience the effect these sort of products have on the hair.

Well actually a lot of us do use colour removers except we know how to use them and that they arent a miracle product that will suddenly make your hair look amazing like this advert is falsely claiming. Of course if someone wants to go light from black you have to use a colour remover then depending on the level of orangeness you can either put a toner or quasi over or do hilights straight up but somewhere in that process highlights are going to come into it because its the only gradual way of lightening hair without causing too much damage. Of course clients who want something for nothing are going to complain about the price and the amount of sessions we suggest, but until you know how much work goes into transforming a dodgy box dye job to a beautiful blonde when clients want the impossible black to white in one session without compromising the hairs integrity, its a bit unfair to basically accuse us all of trying to make our clients pay the maximum amount possible for that kind of service.

Yes they do work .. to varying degrees on differant types and shades of hair .. however what I think we are saying is that it is impossible to guarantee a black to blonde result , which the advert gives the impression of doing (its not )

It's false advertisement in my eyes, I'm not at all threatened by any product, but i do feel sorry for any woman that falls for this :(
These products don't threaten us as hairdressers, they increase our business if anything but make our jobs 100x harder x
