hey just reading your post what i would be doing is checking how much solution is coming out my gun by trying it on a roll of bedroll first holding it just at arms length will let u c how much tan is coming out then adjust it accordingly by turning the screw at the end and make sure you are relatively close to the client whilst tanning them and the slower you go the more tan will adhere to their skin hope this helps ;)

The bedroll test is a great one..the front layer should be showing the tan, but the back layer should be dry, thats when you know your gun is set correctly. If you are using a tan solution with a good guide colour, you should be able to see where you might have sprayed a bit less than other areas.
Just a thought..were you doing this tan at night? If so, the lighting might be a bit dim in the tent.Try and get a clip on light for your tanning tent with a daylight bulb in it..makes a huge difference.
Tanning is very much a 'practice makes perfect' thing. Try and get a few willing guinea pigs in and charge them a fiver( training rates:wink2:) Also its getting used to the solution you are using too. When you change solutions sometimes you have to alter the gun and your spraying speed. Your gun should be about 6-8 inches away from the client, and using about 50 mls, but that will vary according to the size of client, obviously.
Another thought is...you may not know what your client has put on their skin before they come to you, even though you can advise them before their tan what not to use, exfoliation etc sometimes they may not listen and this can seriously affect the tan result.
Spotting of tan spray can also be caused by having an oilier skin type..Ive found that shoulders and thighs can sometimes spot and the rest of the body will be fine. It evens out when I dry it off, so no problems..
Hope this helps....good luck x

hey hun this is when its good just to have a play about and adjust the screw at the end of your gun to a lower setting so less solution is coming out the gun nozzle it will prevent the spotting and wet patches :)
glad I came across this thread, I trained a few months ago but havent done many. Have read most of the STICKY tan guide which is awesome and helpful. But I am still struggling with it tbh.
My gun got set on 5 in the training which it seems is quite high. I guess this was as the trainer was very quick at doing tanning herself?
I also wasn't sure how to establish what the nozzle should be on either?
Sorry t jump the thread.

I was told to tighten my gun then mark the top and turn it so it sits at about 8 o'clock hope that helps a bit
