Staff rotas?

I'm wondering if anyone has idea that might help...

I employ 3 staff and myself tues-sun and I am finding it really hard to create a new rota as I need an extra pair of hands at weekend. That would mean changing our rotas to make sure theres always 3 or 4 people on at a weekend.

Does anyone use a template to create a rota or is it simply (or not so simple) sitting down and writing out all options until I find one that works.

It's so hard because I want to make sure everyones happy and not always working all weekends etc.

Does anyone else find it hard to manage rotas?? Its really doing my head in at the moment!

My rota's drive me insane.

I spent hours (it felt like that anyway) working out he shifts, then working out who will do what adding up hours, making sure there was enough days off.

I think you just have to figure it out.

I used excell and made a spead sheet, it's very easy to change and see then, much easier than scribbling on paper.
