A local salon is soon opening a alcoholic bar within their premises. What do you think?

What if someone has a glass of wine gets in the car and has an accident?
I think it's downgrading and more mature clients won't appreciate it. I mean Xmas eve a glass of bubbly is nice but it attracts the wrong kind of clientele.

As long as they have a licence I dont see the problem. They don't sue pub landlords when a pub customer drinks and drives.
I would think in a salon atmosphere there would be less chance of over imbibing, just a little glass of wine or bubbly along with their relaxing treatment.

Yeah I'll be wasted this year while I only do blow dry's and give out booze and homemade mince pies!
Yes a full on bar isn't right but I'm sure it attracts clients, same as if you had a breast feeding section in your salon!

There's a barbers by me that does that and it's doing well. If clients get too sloshed they are too drunk to drive its tough, like someone else said its not a pub landlords fault someone's got into a car after they left.
If I had a salon in te town centre id consider it, and after all, salons won't be open until 1-5 am xoxo

I used to work at a barbers and we would offer out gents a small complimentary beer, great for when it's busy and there is a few waiting. But only the one! :)

My OH goes to a barbers and they have a small fridge on the wall stocked with beer for their clients. They also have and Xbox and ps3 so the waiting clients can relax and chill out.

Think we're on about the same place, it must be a franchise. Can't remember the name, but it's a great idea, especially for walk in's.
Would be great if kids went there often to keep them quiet. Xoxo

We have a salon nearby that used to be a pub, they kept the licences up and it is fabulous, it has been done up to a very high standard, there is a little restaurant area, little bar, treatment rooms upstairs and two hair salons, one upstairs and one downstairs. You can meet a friend for lunch, have your hair done, have a beauty treatment and have a little glass of wine or bubbly. My old hairdressers in SA used to offer Wine or Champagne (on the house) with treatments.
I love the idea

Personally I wouldn't do it but if it works for them and draws in clients then good luck :)

I know that the salon Umberto Giannini sell alcohol to their clients from just wine to champagne, I did an experience day once and was stocking up the drinks fridge!
I think it's very posh and snobby in some salons also depends where you are based maybe x
