View Full Version : Which course shall i take? Advice please
Hello all!
I'm new so bear with me!
As someone with no qualifications as yet, wanting to become a nail technician - does anyone recommend a particular course? I'm in Leeds but will travel.
I've always wanted to 'learn the trade', and my family are thinking of investing in a salon soon-ish and i want to be as qualified as i can be so i can work there. The course needs to be an intensive one, as i'm working and will take a week of or whatever's required.
I've been google-ing - and Creative Nails / Designer Nails has an acadamy in my area. The foundation course is the one i would take obviously - can anyone recommend this?
Also - will a course like this enable me to work in a salon? My families' or any other - or are other qualifications required as well?
Any advice is much appreciated! :wink2:
Thanks. xxxx
Hi,
You simply can't beat Creative !!! They are one of the best training institutions when it comes to Nail Enhancements and natural nail care. They have won loads of awards for this.
Do a search, and you will finds heaps of info on Creative, their products and training on here.

You can take all the training you need there, and you don't have the hassle of travelling far to get it, perfect!
Thanks for that! I'll book it asap!
So once i have this am i equipped to work in a salon, and train as i go along, or would you recommend any more courses?

you would do your foundation course to start off with, then as you become more confident and proficient in your work you'll be able to work in a salon... some people go for the salon straight away and others wait until they are happy with the nails they are producing.
Good luck and welcome to the site x

Thanks for that Dee.
Does Creative only teach one system then? Maybe the college course might be better, if i'm learning more... hmmm, decisions decisions!
hi with creative you choose which system you want to learn first, i did the l&p foundation, then you can do other systems too gel & fibrglass, i think they do actually also do the nvq there aswell but as i only did my foundation there which was over 2 years ago now alll the education has changed so i cant tell you an up to date guide , i would ring the educatiuon team and they can send everything out to you , hth dee x
