Threads? Posts? confused about which is what?

Simply put, a thread is a new 'topic' placed in a forum and a post is a reply. When you browse the different forums, you are browsing the different threads that have been created and all of the replies are posts responding to the thread.

Here are a couple of mini-movies that demonstrate how to make new threads and new replies. Please note that they were done last year and the site has evolved a bit (i.e. its no longer thenailgeek.com, its thesalongeek.com and some of the forum names have changed) however the process is the same.

Thanks :) its my 'Smooth Jazz 97.5FM' voice that I used to hook Mrs Geek. Think that one worked OK -its just now she wont talk to me unless I speak like that :(

My plan was to create a whole plethora of movies on how to use the site, but sadly time runs away!

You need to be a Premium Geek to start a group.

Hi Purple, your question has been answered a few times now, if you are still having problems, let us know what the problem is, cant you access the forums tab, or cant you see the "new thread" tab, we are trying to help but asking the same question over and over without any more information is not helping. Hope you have been able to get it sorted

If you had included the original post in your reply and were posting within the quote box then, to computer would not recognise that you had made a post so therefore it would need more letters. I hope this helps.

When replying to a post, click the box that looks like it has a down arrow, next to the box which says quote and then type your reply.

Can someone please help! :(

There isn't an option for new thread anywhere. I clicked on the hair forum and there's only topic/stickies/announce. Nothing that says new thread, wish I could send you a pic!
