I am curious as to why the awareness ribbons are so expensive? I would like to get a couple for cancer and alzhemiers diease, since both dieases have affected my family.

The Geekmolians are a fun thing, an extra little perk of the site... and since you seem to think the awareness ribbons are expensive.... they are for charity and you think paying 1000 for them is too much?

I do support those charities in Canada, and it seemed like your reply was a little rude!!
I just seems like it takes forever to get enough points to get one! That's all!
I came to this site to meet friendly people, get some advice, and learn a few tips, maybe this site isn't so friendly after all!

I see your point and I think that its valid. It does take a while to accrue points and may take you awhile to achieve your ribbons.
Of course this site is friendly, sometimes things that are written are easily misconstrued and taken in a way that it wasnt intended than when its said face to face you can tell what someone means by their face or their tone. Here its easy to take offence at the written word that usually wasnt meant that way.
I hope you earn your ribbons soon.

Your right, sometimes in text things get mixed up, and the point gets misconcepted, I guess I came across as probably "rude" to someone, and that wasn't my point, sometimes when you want something soooo bad, it takes forever to get it. I apologize if I offended anyone.

The awareness ribbons cost the same number of Geekmolian points as giving a gift.
If you bank your points then they accrue interest and you'll gain more points.

This site is a friendly one, but sometimes we can take what people write the wrong way.
Being such a global site it can sometimes be difficult to know when someone is writing with a little grin on their face or a grimace, this is down to us all having a different sense of humour in different countries.

You've got enough points to buy a ribbon, look forward to seeing which one you choose

how do you buy a ribbon?

click on Stuff>>GeekmolianShop, click on enter bank to the right of where you see your avatar on that page, make sure you withdraw enough geekmolians, then go back to the geekmolian shop, at the bottom of the page you'll see Misc Items, click that and click on awareness ribbons, fill in the details and your ribbon will appear next to your user name

Is there a limit to how many you can have then as I've lost one of mine & saved up for ages for the last one. Should have 4 now but the eplipsey one vanished. Had to get 4 to support the different charities & this one means a lot. Thanx!! Did metion this before but didn't want to pester anyone about it esp Sam as he has enough to do!!
