I Came Across This Site Earlier Tonight And It Looks Like A Really Fun Site With Lots Of Useful Information.

Im A Total Nail Virgin!! And Have Only Ever Had My Own Nails Done Once...but It Has Given Me The Bug To Try Something New.

I Am A Registered Nurse And Have Worked With The Nhs For The Past 16 Yrs. Now The Kids Are Getting Older I Have Been Thinking Of Doing Something For Meee!!!!( Im Sure All Mums Will Recognise This Feeling!)

I Am Really Keen On Becoming A Nail Technician But I Have Absolutely No Experience With Nails. This Is A Challenge For Me But A Very Exciting One.

Maybe Someone Can Give Me Some Advice Regarding Which Courses Are Good And Which Are Not So Good. There Seems To Be A Whole Lot Of Different Ones Out There, Ranging From Short 1 Day Ones To Longer More In Depth Ones. I Am At A Loss Really As To What Would Be The Best. Also Local College Or Is It Better At A Beauty Therapy School (which Seems To Be More Expensive!)

I Would Like To Do Manicure, Pedicure And Nails To Start Off With...and Then Who Knows...

Also Wondered About Hand Massage And Is That Included In These Courses.

Lots Of Questions I Know...but I Am Really Keen To Get Started.

If Anyone Can Help I'd Really Appreciate It.

hi and welcome to this site.i did a course at my local college i needed to do manicure and pedicure before i could do the nail tech course.

Hi Anna, I am 50 this month but last year I went to my local college two evenings a week and have now passed my NVQ Level 2 the course gives full training on manicures and pedicures as well as different hand and foot treatments, salt scrubs, hot oils, wax etc etc, you also learn about H &S, nail extensions, anatomy and physiology, nail diseases and disorders, contra indications, contra actions, etc etc, I found it really worth while and am now ready to move on to the next stage of my training.

As a foundation I would highly recommend this route.
