Hi new to this site and really want some help!

I was born a male and at 26 have just started on gender reassignment treatment. My journey will last another 3 years and then I will hopefully be the full woman I have always felt I am.

The problem is I feel like a woman inside and as such want to make myself look pretty and feel feminine on the outside. I've been trying from some time to find a salon that will offer me treatments locally for nails, waxing, facials makeup etc. I’ve been put of by the 2 places I’ve visited for treatments by therapists laughing behind my back about the fact imp wearing knickers. I know it's not the norm and I’m aware of how it looks to some, but there must be some people out there who don't judge!

It must be really hard for you. There are a lot of people out here who are quick to judge without understanding the facts.
Try not to worry to much about other people ( even though it must be difficult)

No wonder you feel disheartened,this type of behaviour is down right unacceptable.You need a therapist who will behave in a professional manner.
I don't know who to recommend,but i am sure someone will be able to help.

I had a client in the same situation as you. I did her nails for 3 years before I retired from working behind the nail table!! Maybe you could ask at Transform. Isn't that in Manchester? I'm sure they will know of understanding salons in the greater Manchester area. Good luck.

Hiya it just shows how misunderstood some people are on these things, I am in South cheshire and would gladly do your nails I am sure there are some geeks nearer to you though who would be willing to help out.

Danix welcome to the site and good luck in your quest to find a salon that treats you with respect. I saw a very interesting documentary a while back and what you are going to have to go through in the next few year is not for the faint hearted. I truly hope you find happiness as a full woman, I love it!!!

Geeky folk are generally pretty non-judgemental I would say, so dont you worry about that at all, an' if anyone picks on you I'm sure they'll get a right verbal slappin' from the rest of us .
