how do i get my ticker attached to my sig cos i have tried differnt ways and every thime i preview it id says that its an invalad file

Im not sure and i could be wrong but i think you have to pay a subsription to the site before getting gizmos like that, im sure someone else will know and enlighten us both

no i think the tickers are nothing to do with the site, why not send a pm to a geek who has one & ask how they did it xxxx

when you get the code you have a choice from a couple... have a try with another one as not all codes are compatible with the site.
you don't have to be a premium geek to be able to have an uploaded signature.

I thought having complicated signatures and stuff was frowned on.....but I do see them creeping back in....or are tickers OK?

The article 'Signatures' in the How To Do Stuff On The Site link describes what is frowned upon etc, and also in the 'Geek Commandments' (number 8)

I was wondering this myself as I had to remove my personalized siggie with picture-charms of my daughter's on it.
Someone even complained it was 'distracting' and innappropriate

I was told it takes too much bandwidth. I would think the tickers take up just as much, no?

we need to think about the depth of our signatures aswell as not having lots of smilies or lots of fonts and colours etc... also, what might look like a small signature to us is huge when written in code...
some signatures are overly large, thankfully the majority of Geeks are helpful and keep their signatures within the guidelines (links above)

see, it's the whole code thing that confuzzles me.
Especially since my siggie wasn't uploaded to the geek site.
It was only a 'link' that I copied to my 'signature'. I would 'think' that because it's a link, it uses the other site's bandwidth and not geek's?
(not sure how all that works, I'm not pc-techie lol)

SO if I shrink it in size, can I put it back?
I wasn't asked by a mod to remove it, but I did get a complaint or two.

I don't know how much bandwith it takes up Victoria, but TBH I find that it's very distracting if you are scrolling through a thread and kept coming across moving signatures. Can you not make it so it doesn't move?

I could just imagine if we all had signatures like that I'd be in a hypnotic trance by the time I'd finished a day's geeking ... but hey it may help the insomniacs on the site lol

I didn't make it. It was made for me, and I dont know the person that made it, hard to explain LOL
So, no, can't get the 'same' that doesn't move and it's truly my fav as it features my girls.

Guess I'll pass then cause I really dont feel like getting all offended all over again when I get pms about it.
