Why do we have to wait 30 seconds?

I have been wanting to know why when you click on New Posts, then click something else then go back to New Posts you get a message that says this forum requires that you wait 30 seconds try again in xx seconds?? Or am I the only one that gets this?

May be a rather silly question but it bugs me something awful!!!

Not sure why it happens but it does - not normally a problem, unless you type too fast LOL.

You can use some Geekmolians and switch this option off.

Its because a search is really resource intensive. If everyone is hitting new posts within 30 seconds, the system would grind to a halt.

What I usually do is new posts then open the ones I want to read in a new window either by shift+click or right click and open in new window. Its much faster to surf that way

...And if you use Firefox then you can open the posts you want to read in new tabs. which means that they are still in the same window!! oh how i love firefox!!

(however it does mean that some web pages dont look the same as when you view them in internet explorer!!
