childrens parties,crb checked? -
31-10-06, 01:32 PM
I presume now that if you do anything with children including pamper parties you have to be crb checked. We have all had to be in my schools parents association and all clubs etc. Anyone come across this or thought about it.

Most of the children's party planners round my way are crbchecked i got mine through workign at the school and it does put people minds at rest. think it was £40 from the council.

I am also crb checked for going into school, but I was told that for each unrelated place you will be with children, you need a separate crb clearance.
eg. one for school and one for brownies. I wonder if you can get a personal based one to cover you for kids parties?? |

I do childrens pamper partys and to be honest this thought had never crossed my mind untill now, not sure how the land lies with this one but i had to have an enhanced CRB (this checks you out from birth practically) when i was a foster carer so hopefully im covered and there is always at least one parent that stays thankfully

my mum is a childminder.
i HAVE to be police checked cos i LIVE in the same house, i don't even see the kids - occassionally when they get picked up or dropped off, as im going/coming in from work. But i get checked every year, only convictions you are allowed to have are driving offences HTH x |

I would have thought anyone working with children needs to be CRB checked but bet there are loads of people out there doing parties that aren't.
Don't you have to renew it every so often ? My BF has one as he works with children & goes to lots of different schools. Im sure his is valid wherever he goes. |

apparently if you are a sole trader you can't have one of these done thats what it say on their website. you have to be with a registered company before your can get one. but still give them a ring for further information

Thankyou sooo much for bringing this to my attention.
I have actually never even thought that this was an issue as long as the parents/guardians signed a consent form I though all would be fine! I will call the CRB tomorrow (thanks Gill for the number) and I'll find out how the land lies on ths one. What an interesting and thought provoking thread!!! Teri x ![]() |
