I'm so sorry, but as it stands, I don't like it
It has a bit of an amature porn feel IMO - I was waiting for a big shiny man to appear after the demo!

Please don't hate me!! I am looking at it from a female view point - Well, MY female view point!! So, just trying to be helpful to you.

I think this could be resolved by either taking out the footage of the girls 'modeling' their new tans; Or change the music. Together, they say to me - porn porn porn!

Ok.
So I thought I should give it another watch over - I only gave it 3 minutes before switching it off last time (first impressions and all that!) Maybe I hadn't been fair last time?

LOL! My mother told me, if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all... so I was keeping stum on this one!!

But now you have been brave enough to voice your opinion I have to say I agree with much of what you say.

Personally I didnt like the way the tan was sprayed on.. it looked like it was being 'painted' on rather than a misting on. The best spray tans are the ones that develop in time, the dark plastered on look is a no-no in my book. Maybe it was the lighting.. but I didnt like the look of the colour - way too dark imho!

Have to admit I was surprised at how close he got and the way he sprayed them. I wonder how the plant and walls looked after as you always get overspray no matter what system you use.

Did also wonder why 2 girls were used together - a bit weird.

I'm assuming they used the 2 different girls because they had different skin tones?
If a woman had done the spraying people may have looked at it another way.
Hard to tell the colour on video tbh.

I thought the video was very well done and was exactly how I was taught to spray except I spray vertically but I am as close to the client.

I thought i was missing something with regards to the previous posts.

Then the end part ruined a professional video IMO not necessary and unprofessional for potential clients to view, and as a female it would not encourage me to book with your company

As a spray tan client - not knowing the ins and outs of how it should be done....

I thought the vid was good up showing how it was done and the results.

I didn't like the girls parading about. Doesn't seem to have anything to do with it. It's like the script and direction ran out so someone shouts from the background "show us your white bits!"

Also, the bit where they stripped and the guy checks out their racks before throwing the bikinis???

Up until that i thought it was fine. (maybe would have been better with a female sprayer as lots of women will find the image of a man spraying them off putting)
But should end when the application is done. The parading about detracts for the pitch at the begginning.

ok watched it first time and didn't watch til the end, just watched it all the way through, my suggestions would be this
a. change the music, it is a bit porny, is that a word?
b. the footage itself was ok, up to the point where you showed the before and after pictures. i think you should get rid of everything after that.

with those two bits done i think it would be ok. everyone has different techniques, but for the purpose of potential clients, they don't necessarily need a lengthy demo on all aspects, why not cut it down a bit and put a faq section, hth, good luck with it all xx

To start with the music was VERY annoying and paired with the girls stripping off at the end in front of the guy, very like a porn movie - if I were a client there is NO WAY this would entice me, I'd be more afraid of a hidden camera and finding myself on YouTube in the future!

The spraying part was ok, apart from a guy doing it, a lot of spray tan clients are first-timers and find it very difficult to strip off in front of a woman, let alone a man. And if the palms of their hands don't end up brown I'll eat my hat!! And at the end they were touching their newly-sprayed bodies with their hands - I'd be jumping up and down and screaming at them if they did this! And one girl's hair was flying all over the place with the air from the gun.

It's all very well showing the 'white bits' but this is just the colour guide - not the proper developed tan, so not a good indication of the colour. There isn't any reason to show the girls's being photographed - again, too much like a porn movie.

Phew! So I guess you guys didn't like it!!!!

My general comment first and then on the points made one by one....

The vid is made a combination of "This is a tan going on", the girls messing around playing as models to a stills cam, and then a cheeky twist at the end. The models are semi-professional, (see their details at the bottom of my vid page) and I MUST CLEAR THIS UP... they were aged 24 and 25 at the time of the shoot, so no more comments about their parents finding out please!!! I do accept not all will like it, and do accept constructive criticism.


1. Gelly. Amateur porn. Sorry, but I really fail to see this. How many 'cheeky' ads do we all see on TV? The girls are playing to a stills camera as though they are 'ordinary' girls playing at being models - hence blowing kisses to the stills, laughing and messing around. As for the bit at the end, no more is shown than on say shampoo ads etc. The music isnt 'sexy saxophone' or anything but is just some funky music written especially for the vid..... by a Christian guy who wouldn't want to be connected with porn in any way! Thanks for at least watching it the 2nd time through though, much appreciated.

2. NailFX. Firstly we all have different techniques, and mine has been adapted over time and is a very effective method that always avoids any streaks as it uses an overlap technique. The colour was 12% which is more than the girls may have normally, but has to be dark enough for the cam. You can get a better idea of the finished tan at Spray Tanning Images - Tropical Sunrise which is of the Model rebecca at the end of the shoot, and I am sure you will agree that it is not as though she has been painted with chocolate!

3. Deb379. I watched the vid again and it is actually quite hard to see the distance I tan at which is approximately 10-12 inches - and this is actually FURTHER than the distance often recommended (normally 8 inches). The gun is turned down low so it is very rare for me to cause either runs or 'spotting'. Their is virtually no overspray at all because the spray is so low. At the end of the shoot, I personally went to check and clean the floor around the towels..... but there was nothing to do as there was no spray on the floor at all. If you tan from further away, you have to turn the gun higher and so you suffer from more mist in the air, use more solution and get more overspray. Honestly, try it turned down lower and get in closer. (I use approx 60-70ml per tan). Oh, and two girls... yes, partly because of different skin tones, and secondly because it is different to any other vid out there.

4. Martigirl. Interesting you tan as close as I. Yes, most tan vertically (especially n the arms and legs, but my way works great for me - this is just differences and shouldn't be an issue. I have no problem with women booking - infact over 95% of my clients are women, and many are MORE comfortable with it being a guy. Perhaps it is like with me, I am more happy haveing a female than a male doctor, and my wife prefers a male gynaecologist.

5. TammyLeicester. I didn't 'check out their racks'! LOL If you look again, I look at their faces. Couldn't use a female sprayer as it is me who sprays! As I said above, being a male sprayer ain't a problem, and I have only ever had 2 ladies say they couldn't have a guy, and one whose husband wasn't happy (that's fine I respect that) apart from that, no issues.

6 EstherLou. 'Porny' music! Honestly don't know what you mean, but then I don't watch any porn! Seriously, it is just some funky music written for the vid. To licence a track for use on a vid is approximately £500 for 30 seconds and the licence is for 5 years..... gets a bit expensive then! The stuff after the before/afters is the fun bit or twist or viral aspect of the vid that gets people talking. Looks like its working! I don't want FAQ on the vid, I have it on my site the vid is to get people to the site and get my business more widely known.


Anyway, thanks all for spending the time. Incidentally, have a look at say.... YouTube - Spray tan maybe nothing wrong with it, but it doesnt look like a pro vid. Also, check out her distances, that is about the same or closer than me.

Oh and one other thing, and this is not meant in any rude way, but are many of you Americans? I have found that Americans are more 'prudish' than Europeans (sorry can't think of another word for it) and in fact I have seen on one American tanning site that ONLY a woman could spray a woman. Don't forget guys, tanning someone is not a sexual thing, but a professional service, I am sure that you spray guys too.

So as a guy, should I be careful of you making a hidden movie of me?? What are you saying? It is a pro service, all my clients know I am male before I visit them, and as it is at their homes, there can be no cams. Trash my vid if you like, but please don't imply that I am some sort of weirdo!

It has to be a male as I am a male sprayer! Yes, some women actually find it EASIER to strip in front of a guy. Perhaps they think a guy won't be checking out any imperfections they think they have - don't know, but it isn't a problem.

I use barrier cream on the palms and don't spray them either, obviously. There is NO tan on their palms.... period.

Yes, but this is a vid, that bit was filmed some time later - it is not real life, but a promo video. I normally use a booth, hair caps etc, but this is for film.

*sigh* Yes, but any and ALL before/afters you see are taken like that. And what is worse, the colour is often faked - mine arent (on vid or stills). The reason to show them playing to stills is to indicate that they 'feel great' that they 'feel like models' etc. How is this porn??? It is just them catwalking and having fun.


Finally, can anyone show me their promo video so we can compare????????
