I was informed that i needed to produce an aftercare leaflet for part of my Nail art research & report assignment, which was the 1st task we had to do, but as i was not going to all the nail lessons as it clashed with my Beauty Therapy I was told that i needed to show the leaflet to the lecturer so she could see that I had done it and thought it was to show i was on track, unfortunately she submitted it as complete to be marked, and as it was not handed in as a project with front cover and bibliography i recieved a pass for that task!
I was (and i still am) gutted as I have always gone in great depth with my assignments and as my results of all other assignment grades in both subjects (all distinctions) I did not achieve the grade which i felt i deserved. (awww are you feeling my pain yet!) lol, and the highest grade i could get for the task was a pass!!! (violins are playing somewhere in the distance lol)

I learnt my lesson from this though and that was to not show my work to the lecturers until i had completely finished them.

As a result of the one pass on the unit and a credit (which is still good) for my nail art practicle, I was one point from a distinction overall.

But hey, its still a great achievement for a mature student and mother of 4 and i am proud of myself!

See I told you i go indepth... sorry if i just put you all to sleep ! but that explains why I missed out on my distinction!

HI, We did our final extensions exam last night. Thought it went really badly for the maintenance and ok for the full set. I got distinctions so I was really surprised and pleased. That means I got a distintion for the whole nail technology course (mani, pedi, nail art & extensions)

There is a acrylic course next year at college so I might look into to doing that. I was also looking at doing some of the beauty, but I'm not sure yet. How did you find the beauty?

Oh my gosh- that is really harsh. Did you say anything to her? I only got a credit for my aftercare sheet. I was really disappointed because she had a look at it and said that it was fine and started showing it to everyone else in the class- to show them what the aftercare sheet had to be like. And this meant that I only got a credit overall for nail art.

I was also a bit mad with the entensions mark- I only got a credit- because I didnt use enough references- I dont mind getting credits if my work isnt good enough but to only get it for not writing enough references down I think was a bit unfair. Never mind- I got a distinction overall and as long as we put 100% into doing them on our clients then it doesnt matter what marks we got for our essay's.
