How to promote facials? - 11-02-08, 09:33 PM

Following on from another thread it seems that some of us perhaps struggle a little to get clients in for facials and others for whom it is their main business.

I love doing facials but I have only had 2 bookings in 5 months!!

I use Eve Taylor products, I love them, I use them myself at home and have also converted my mum and daughter but I cannot for the life of me get clients in.

Any advice, experience, recommendations...commiserations!

Have you done any mail shots to your clients with any special deals on your facials? Perhaps try and re-vamp your facial treatment or leaflets and push it as a specialist service.

How do you promote your facial services at present?

I dont really know the Eve Taylor products but how wide is the range of facial treatments that are offered to the clients? My Treatment menu shows about 12 options but also makes it clear that each facial will be adapted to the needs of the clients skin.

I can sympathise with you there. I'd like us to do more facials aswell as we only seem to do lots of them when they're part of our monthly special promo.

I haven't tried it yet but had thought about offering a free facial with skincare purchase ie buy 2 products, receive a free mini facial; 3 products = mid priced facial & 4 = high end facial. The advantage of this is that it introduces clients to facials plus homecare & even if they don't have many facials, hopefully they should still buy the retail products

I struggle to get people in for facials too. I'm only part-time in the evenings and I'm lucky to get 3 a month. Mostly do waxing and nails now but I would love to do more facials... it's more relaxing for me!

Is it the products that people initially go for or maybe I don't have the right ambiance in my little room?

Our skincare rep gave us some good ideas which had worked well for some of her other accounts. Can your skincare supplier support you with promotional material/samples etc? Its definately worth a phone call. x

I sometimes offer a complimentary back massage with my facials as a special offer for a limited period which seems to go down well. x

Hiya, ive had a look at your facials and we do pretty much the same, i also use eve taylor and get great results. i find once someone has had one they're hooked.
In the current climate people are holding the pursestrings tight. Waxing and nail treatments are seen as maintenance and facials as more of a luxury.
I find the way to get clients that has worked for me is to make them an offer they can't refuse, knock your express facial down from £15 to £12.50 tell everyone who walks through the door, get a little flyer, half a5 maybe and pop them into the hairdressers or hand one to each client then when they commment on how lovely the treatment is you have their attention to tell the of the benefit of regular full facials, good luck hun, as i said i'd still like to do more facials and try to put a regular new offer on them xx

Eek Facial Customers - 13-02-08, 10:05 PM

My Advice Would Be To Do A Facial Day With Your Current Brand, Have The Rep Or Trainer Down And Do Mini Facials On Clients. Tell Your Clients 2 Or 3 Weeks Before And Get Them All Booked In, This Will Help With Retail And Also Get New Facial Customers. Poster Which Say Monthly Offres Are Great And Giving Samples For The Customers Too.

Have A Chat With Your Rep, I Am Sure She Or He Will Be Able To Give Great Support.
