New consumer questions forum! -
28-03-08, 03:10 PM
Due to a recent increase of general consumer posts in the professional forums we have opened a new Consumer Queries forum to assist consumers with their questions which in turn will help keep the professional forums... well.. er.. professional!
Once a member registers, they will receive a notification at the top of the screen reminding them that if they are a consumer seeking advice from a professional that the Consumer Queries forum is the hot spot to do that. After the member has a few posts under their belt, the notice goes away nJoy |

I think this is a fantastic idea
I'm sure that many people may be put off posting in a professional forum and go away never to comeback - at least this way if someone has a burning question, it can be answered I see that there is one in there already ![]() |

One key purpose is to ensure that there is place for the posts/threads being made by those that are not involved in our industry. By this I mean hobbyists, enthusiasts, and consumers. All posts/threads by other individuals (students, professionals and potential students) should still go in their respective professional forum.
This will ensure that the consumer/enthusiast threads are not lost in a mumble jumble of professional threads and will also ensure that the consumer and/or enthusiast's questions are not read from a 'professional' perspective. Really a win win for all HTHs! |

Fabulous....it now enables the site to be what it was before it got so big and indexed so rapidly by the spiders, so now, everyone, not just professionals (which the ethos was never really about and which has been talked about a lot) can take part in the right forum. Cool!
