less is more -
07-04-08, 07:28 PM
This is probably one of the harder ares to master and you are certainly doing the right thing with the not so large ladies...
Unfortunatley there is not an easy fix solution here..however I do think this is definatley a case of "less is more" The problem is that you need the liquid on the skin so the tan can do its job..however it of course needs to be allowed to dry so it turns out right. So if we therefore think about it logically you simply can't ask a customer to hold the breast away from touching the upper body area until it has fully dried so maybe try this trick Do a light misting only to the underside of the breast when you first start spraying ...just lightly so even when they let go there is no excessive liquid to be rubbed about...then do the rest of the body and then go back and do the breast underside area again at the end of the treatment again with just a light coating...this way they will only have to hold the breast away from contact for a shorter time By doing this the liquid is not sitting on the skin's surface so much, and is absorbed into the skin faster and therefore quicker drying and less chance of the tan being messed up due to rubbing. Also if you use a liquid with less initial colour dye the DHA is obsorbed into the skin a lot quicker and again therefore dries faster. Hopefully there will be many other idesa..but maybe give this a try..do let us know how you get on though ![]() |

Good advice already given....
Also what you have to think about is that the whole purpose of spray tanning is to leave you with a natural looking finish. Most large ladies naturally never get the chance to have a perfect tan under the breast area - this can sometimes be an area that never gets to see much sun...therefore remaining white in comparison to the rest of the body. Mist lightly over this area if you can, btbh I wouldn't worry about it too much as naturally the ladies wouldn't tan there at all... I'm sure they will understand this if explained... hth |

thankyou for your help so far
its actually the area that the breasts drop on to, rather than the underside of them i think i will tan the area less and let the area dry, though i thought i was actually doing this, i was having my nozzle turned horizontal, then misting across the ribcage area directly under the bust, then drying, then spraying the chest and bust, but when id finished where the breasts have rested back on the skin, and i suppose got hot the skin then looks dark, wet and looks like it will probably stain it would be ideal if they could then spend the next 6 hours laying down, but wondered if then putting a bra on after the tan would be the answer??? keep em coming !!!! |

If they are lucky enough to be that large ask them to keep their bra on,
spray underneath the bust area first before spraying anywhere else and have them keep their bra on until you have sprayed the rest of the body below this area, this will give the area below their bust plenty of time to dry, once you are happy they are dry under the bust have the client remove the bra and spray the rest of the body (top) hth ![]() |

You could always ask them to do a handstand up the wall for a bit whilst you go and get a cuppa. pmsl!
I'm a large lady with ample up top & it's something I've wondered about.... Sorry Nikki hun, I couldn't help it! |

I usually ask them to hold their bust with their arms ((bit like a chicken)) and then spray that area, then their tummy and then their legs by which time its resonably dry.
But as said before they dont naturally tan there anyway. Also a good way is in my routine ((st. tropez)) we get them to stand side on and raise their arm you can usually spray under then unless their gignormous! becki xxx |

Being a larger lady myself, I can understand the problem. I used to buy in bulk some disposable straples bra type things. I can't honestly remember where I got them from, possibly Ellisons or even St Tropez.
They don't give the best shape or sillhouette, but they can support the area, and be left on as they leave. Hope this helps. |
