Stretchmarks - 28-05-08, 12:01 PM

Hiya Everyone, wanted some advise please, a girl I know has asked me about her stretchmarks, basically she has them on her back and they are quite noticeable especially when she bends down, which are really starting to get her down. She has been using Bio-oil which have made the colour lighter but she wants to know what she can use to decrease the size of them. She asked me about sun beds and spray tans asking whether this would help, but I advised it would just tan over them and they would still be noticeable and wouldnt reduce the size of them, is this right and what would you suggest please?

Thanks

Amy xx

Tanning them reduces the overall look of them but is only tempory. The only thing that will reduce the depth and appearence is laser skin rejuvenation and skin peeling. I get great results from skin peeling, however stretch marks will never disappear. you can only ever reduce the appearence but this is often enough for clients. Even the drastic measure of surgery will only reduce their appearence.

Try to expalin to your client that she needs to love her body. What is really a big thing to her, no one else will really notice as they have their own body hang ups to worry about.

I think theirs vary few women out there who don't have dreaded stretchmarks!
